A 16-year-old Muslim minor was murdered in Katihar. The family members have accused of murder after rape. The minor’s body has been recovered from the neighbourās house in the same village. The victim was missing for the last two days. The matter is of Azam Nagar police station area. On getting information about the incident on Thursday, the police reached the spot.Ā
The father of the deceased girl has filed an application in the Azam Nagar police station and accused the boy of the village and the girl’s lover of murder. The younger brother of the accused chief public representative has been accused of strangulation after rape.Ā Ā
Mohammad Mujeeb Ur Rehman, the father of the victim girl, has told in his application that on the evening of 24th, his daughter had gone to the shop next to the house to get groceries. When she did not return home after a long time, her search was started. During this, information was received that Kusum Lal Vishwas had kidnapped him by luring him on the way to the shop. He informed the local police about it.Ā
There was frequent conversation between the accused and the girl on mobile. The accused had also given mobile as a gift to the girl. At present, Azam Nagar Police has started taking further action on the basis of written application. Here, the accused youth is absconding after the incident.Ā Ā
The killing of the minor girl has caused high of protest taken by local villagers and relatives of the family, demanding for justice. The 16-year-old girl was founded under brutal conditions on May 25. The station house officer of Azam Nagar police station have registered the FIR under Section 302 that is murder, section 201 that is concealing and offence, section 120 (B) that is conspiracy and section 34 that is crime with common intention of the Indian Penal Code, after the reports of the first post-mortem. The initial report which was conducted at the district hospital of Katihar, did not mention rape.Ā Ā
A Twitter campaign is trending for the justice of the victim with the hashtag #JusticeforMahenoor, #JusticeforKatiharGirl. The netizens automating the case as a Nirbhaya case and are demanding exemplary punishment for the accused. There are also playing the police and the law enforcement Agencies for not arresting the accused and not doing proper investigation.Ā Ā
As per the police officials the two accused, Kusum Lal Vishwas and Rekha Devi have been arrested so far but there are 7 more accused including the wife of the Kusum Lal Vishwas are remaining. The accused are the neighbours of the victim. In a statement on May 26, stated that the inquired about the victim to the accused persons daughter but she didn’t tell anything to them.Ā
Rahman the father of the victim stated that, āPolice are protecting the culprits by not adding the sections of kidnapping and rape. Her condition and the clothes were obvious proof that she was raped. But to protect the culprits, the first autopsy report did not mention this. I hope that the fresh report will confirm our allegations,ā.Ā Ā
Mahboob Alam, a C.P.I. (M.L.) MLA, who was also part of the protest, accused the local police of ādeliberate negligence as they did not pay any heed to the requests of the victimās family.ā While protesting the Aligarh Muslim University students did a candle March and protected against Bihar Sarkar. They have demanded that the accused should be hanged as per the POCSO act and justice for Mahenoor through rigorous punishment for the criminals.Ā
All the claims are dissatisfactory as rape isn’t a joke, it’s a real crime. It’s a slap on the humanity’s face. The 16-year-old girl who had dreams in her eyes, who wished to fly above the sky, was dragged down brutally by these monsters, left cold, bare and dead. The protestors also protesting that the mainstream media is not covering the issue much as, 16 years old girl in Bihar, gangraped, killed and hanged but no media is showing about her.Ā Ā
It’s the question of all the girls from the states that till when will this savagery continue and till when the mothers of Nirbhaya and Mahenoor and many other girls like them have to cry out for justice? Till when???
