2024 polls would bring the results which might be unknown to everybody as each day unveils drastic changes in the plans of the political parties. Narendra Modi has been serving as the Prime Minister of the country for the last eight years.
As BJP celebrates this occasion, the party established itself as an epitome of confidence and upbeat and expects to take over the 2024 polls (Lok Sabha election) with a hit of 350-plus seats.
But the situation somersaulted with time and has opened a different page altogether as indicated by a series of recent developments such as the Parliamentary Board revamping a campaign against freebies. Not forgetting the exit of the Janata Dal (United) from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar.
BJP leaders have allegedly labelled last month’s reorganization of the parliamentary board as a hurriedly done exercise.
They have stated that unlike in the past when the party’s apex decision-making body used to be a syndicate of experienced and heavyweight leaders at the organizational level.
New faces and new pans for 2024 polls
However, the new faces emerge to have been chosen with electoral prospects in mind.
Without having a visible national presence, BS Yediyurappa (79-year-old former Chief Minister) seems to have been seated as the party realizes that the unrestrained support of the Lingayat strongman is vital if it has to win the maximum number of seats in the southern state in the Assembly polls next year. This further constitutes the general elections in 2024.
The BJP’s leader further said that this situation reflects that the party is not so convinced about Karnataka. And doesn’t want to take risks over guaranteeing their backing to Yediyurappa.
The party has selected Iqbal Singh Lalpura as a Sikh candidate and Satyanarayan Jatiya who’s a Dalit face from Punjab and Madhya Pradesh respectively.
In MP, BJP wants to retrieve the support of the weaker communities.
The support was however lost during the previous assembly elections. Regardless, getting back their support in Punjab is their strong steadfast desire.
The BJP has already had an unexpected setback in Bihar. Wherein, Nitish Kumar led JD(U) shook hands with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and left BJP behind. The situation however doesn’t’ reflect in the 2024 blueprints.
Nevertheless, BJP has been assumed to have a splendid accomplishment in Maharashtra. The senior leader of the BJP stated that Bihar came as a shock to the party.
Nitish and RJD alliance would be a rooted combination that can precisely create havoc for the upcoming elections. This echoes that things are not going as planned for BJP.
