22 people have lost their lives in five districts in the last week. On Saturday, five persons died in Bhagalpur, and four in Gopalganj district. Gopalganj district had already seen five more deaths on Friday. Three people died in Siwan and two in Bettiah district on last Tuesday.
In Bihar’s Katihar district, three villagers died in mysterious circumstances on Tuesday whole two others are battling for their lives in the hospital. The incident took place under Koda Police Sation, at Jubarganj Rishi Tola village. Villagers claim that the three died due to the consumption of poisonous liquor. The reason is yet to be confirmed.
District Magistrate Udayan Mishra said that the matter is still under investigation. The villagers claim that the five people consumed liquor on Monday evening and their condition deteriorated later that night. All the victims were taken to the adjoining Purnea district and the five people were admitted to the government hospital there.
Unfortunately, three of them died after sometime. Not only this, but 22 people have lost their lives in five districts in the last week. On Saturday, five persons died in Bhagalpur, and four in Gopalganj district. Gopalganj district had already seen five more deaths on Friday.
Three people died in Siwan and two in Bettiah district on last Tuesday. There has also been some news reporting the death of three children in the Araria district within a few hours after admission in hospital due to fever on Monday.
Doctors are not sure if the deaths are related or the victims faced different circumstances that caused the misfortune event. The doctors were clueless about the disease that caused it.
The children were suffering from fever and had vomiting since the past few days. The district hospital’s civil surgeon Dhanushdhari Prasad has set up a medical team to discuss the cause of the fever. He will also visit the village to inspect hygiene there according to sources.
The said children were identified as five-year-old Md. Masoom, three-year-old Md Ayub and five-year-old Subhani from Sikitia village.
