In UNSC India and 12 other nations abstain on the vote on Russian-led draft resolution on Ukraine
In UN Security Council India together with 12 other nations, abstained from a resolution by Russia on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.Â
On Wednesday, Russia was cosponsored by Syria, North Korea, and Belarus on the draft resolution. It failed to get adopted in the Council as it did not get the required nine yes votes to pass.Â
Russia and China voted in favor of the resolution while no countries were voting against it. India and the remaining Security Council members abstained.Â
 7,000 to 15,000 Russian troops dead in Ukraine: NATO
On Wednesday, Nato evaluates those 7,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers who have been slaughtered in a Russian attack in the last four weeks of fighting, where fierce resistance from the country’s defenders has denied Moscow the lightning victory it sought. By way of comparison, Russia lost about 15,000 troops over 10 years in Afghanistan.Â
Lviv Ukraine’s small haven of peace — and transit for those fleeing war
About 70 km from the border with Poland, Lviv in Ukraine has become the main transit point for all those fleeing the war. Located in the western part of the country, this city has largely been untouched by Russia’s invasion. Smaller checkposts can be seen outside every village and town, even if some are left unguarded. Everyone is prepared, in case the war comes west.Â
