Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that crores of people had become ‘lakhpatis’ by becoming the owners of the houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 75 Urban Development projects of Uttar Pradesh under Smart Cities Mission and AMRUT in Lucknow.
Modi’s Big Revelation
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that over 30 million low-income families across India had become ‘lakhpatis’ by getting a house during his tenure. PM told the media that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, about three crores of the house have been built and distributed among people.
Addressing the event on Tuesday, PM Modi highlighted the increase in the number of houses and informed that after 2014 his govt sanctioned over 1.13 crore houses had been built, and the owners have possessed more than 50 lakh houses.
Modi’s Claim
Without mentioning any name, Modi claimed that earlier there was no policy regarding housing for the poor it was his govt for the first time who took the dig and decided that there would be no house built in an area less than 22 square meters.
He further happily announced that out of the house given under PM Awas Yojana, more than 80 per cent of homes are owned by women or joint owners.
Land of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Uttar Pradesh as the Land of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.
PM Modi stated that people knew the UP before BJP came to power. He claimed that before 2017 the basic infrastructures of the state UP like roads and electricity were ignored entirely, but now those are being developed.
Modi used the opportunity to take a dig at the previous Samajwadi Party government by saying that before 2017, Rs 18000 crore was approved for Uttar Pradesh for house construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and as per his statement, the former government of UP did not even build 18 houses.
PM also asked the UP govt to make a target to lit at least two days during the Diwali festival in all the nine lakh houses of the PM Awas Yojana.
PM Modi told the media that this year, Ayodhya would light 7.50 lakhs days. He wants that along with Ayodhya, all the nine lakh PM Awash beneficiaries should also get diyas in their footsteps during the festival.
Modi Flagged Off 75 Buses.
The Prime Minister took part in the ‘Azadi@75-New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ conference cum expo and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Governor Anandiben Patel.
He also flagged 75 buses under FAME – II for seven cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Jhansi & Ghaziabad.
During his visit to Lucknow, Modi also inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Chair at the Baba Sahab Bhimrao Ambedkar University because he feels that Lucknow has given the visionary through Atalji to the nation.
Oppositions Take on PM Modi’s Lucknow Visit.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi tweeted a viral video of an SUV running over farmers at a protest in the Lakhimpur district of UP.
She even asked PM why he hasn’t asked the BJP govt to arrest that driver soon. She further added that instead of arresting that criminal, his BJP govt is putting the opposition under custody without any FIR.
