This year, however, eight colleges had released 100 per cent cutoffs for at least ten courses. The DU officials state that they have to place such high academic thresholds to avoid over admissions.
The reason for this high cutoff can be pointedย to the fact thatย theย majorityย ofย students scored more than 95 per cent this year.ย The Class 12 board examinations were not conducted due to the Covidย pandemic, so most schools-based students’ marks on their internal assessments.

Admissions under the first cutoff willย continue untilย October 6, and the secondย cutoff list will be released on October 9.ย The university will release five cutoff lists, followed by aย particular cut off to fill the remaining seats.
Looking at the high cutoffs, many young DU aspirantsย are crushedย that they may not get in despite crossingย the 95% threshold. They are left scouring for alternatives at the last minute as theyย feel that getting into their dream is far from reality now.
An excellent way to deal with this admissions issue would be to conduct an aptitude test like CAT and base a certain amount of the eligibility criteria on the marks scored in the class 12 examination.
