Cameron Diaz is back in the spotlight after finally deciding to end her long-term retirement from the industry. The actress made a big announcement for her fans: she is returning with a brand new Netflix movie! For the unversed, the actress last appeared in the 2014 film ” Annie.”
Cameron Diaz previously revealed to Gwyneth Paltrow for Goop in 2020 why she decided to take a break from acting.
“It’s a strange thing to say,” she explained. I know that a lot of individuals won’t understand, but working at that level, being in the public eye, and putting yourself out there is exhausting. When you’re observable as an actor, doing press, and putting yourself out there, there’s a lot of energy coming at you all the time. I’m only sensitive to certain types of energy, but I can feel the enormous energy of people’s attention on me.I sat down and took a close look at my life, and realised what all I have missed all these years.
With all of the excitement surrounding her recent comeback, On Friday, the dazzling actress appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show, where host Jimmy Fallon asked her regarding her role in director Seth Gordon’s upcoming action-comedy film Back in Action, in which she will star opposite Jamie Foxx.
When Fallon asked Diaz if she was nervous or excited to begin work on the Netflix film after an 8-year acting hiatus, Diaz replied, “I’m both.” You know what I mean? It’s a little bit of muscle memory. I did it for so long that it almost feels like a process — I just fell back into it. But it feels a little strange.”
She continued, ” I have made two movies with Jamie, which is incredible. This movie with Jamie is the first one I’ve made since Annie, which was my last project. She praised her Back in Action co-star, who she had already worked with in 1999’s Any Given Sunday, saying, “He’s so amazing, he’s so easy, he’s so professional, he’s so brilliant. Also, it will be a lot of fun to work with him.
Diaz has married Good Charlotte member Benji Madden since her retirement, and they have a daughter named Raddix. According to a PEOPLE, Madden, 43, is “very excited for her” and “motivated her to unretire.”
