President Joe Biden stood clear on his points on Tuesday that he is not going to sit by and let the extreme policies of Republicans go afloat. He is on to announce new steps in the direction of reproductive health and care as he marked 100 days after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
The President aimed directly at the University of Idaho for issuing legal guidance for the state’s near-total abortion ban. The guidance provided by the University states that the school should no longer be giving the students any birth control and advised the employees against speaking about abortion at their work.
During the second meeting of the administration’s Task Force on Reproductive Health Care Access, Biden said “Folks, what century are we in? What are we doing? I respect everyone’s view on this, and the personal decisions they make, but my Lord, we’re talking about contraception here, It shouldn’t be that controversial but this is what it looks like when you start to take away the right to privacy.”

Guidance for universities is set to be released by The Department of Education about reiterating the Title IX requirement that institutions should protect their students from discrimination on the basis of pregnancy and its termination.
Biden spoke to the colleges from the White House where he warned them for enacting policies that target students and their access to reproductive care. The President said “My message to any other college considering enacting policies like this: Don’t. Please don’t.”
Biden signed an executive order in August which will help women who will travel out of state to receive abortions and to ensure healthcare employees and providers stand with federal law so that the care isn’t delayed.
