Air France and Airbus are on trial in the case where the plane crashed killing at least 228 people on board. The case revolves around insufficient pilot training and defective seed monitoring before the takeoff. As this incident took place killing more than 200 people onboard, many planes were replaced with effective and stable ones on an immediate basis.
The flight flying between Rio and Paris crashed down in the Atlantic ocean. This incident killed 228 people on board. 13 years post this incident, there are trial charges against Air France and the aircraft maker of Airbus. The charges were made based on involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 plane crash.
The flight which took off from Rio, Brazil crashed in the Atlantic Ocean killing so many people present there. The case was also made based on insufficient training provided to the pilot and the defective speed of the monitoring probe. This itself led to the replacement of many places worldwide.
The airbus, AF 447 starting from Rio de Janeiro to Paris (the destination) crashed in the Atlantic Ocean due to a storm on June 1st, 2009. The incident took place in the early hours of June 1st. When the plane was above the Atlantic Ocean, it underwent a lot of turbulence, landing in the Crash down the flight in the ocean. The Airbus carried 12 crew members and 216 passengers which included 61 French nationals. The crash which took place s believed to be the deadliest crash that ever took place in history.
Within a few days, the debris was found. It took nearly 2 years to locate and recover the “black box”. An inquiry was charged against Air France and Airbus for committing such a big mistake of a disoriented Pilot. The monitoring tubes of the flight had apparently frozen due to the thick cloud above the ocean. The investigation was on but the companies dropped the charges in 2019 and also denied criminal negligence on their side.
The Paris court, therefore, said that there is no sufficient evidence due to which the case cannot move ahead. According to the authority of Air France, it will continue to operate and has assured it will not commit such huge negligence from now on. The Airbus had been in service for 4 years before the accident. They refused to comment on the accident now and have denied criminal negligence. Due to their past negligence, Airbus had to pay a fine of 225,000 euros ($222,000).
