Fawad khan surprises his fans with this action-packed film.
Fawad khan has returned on screen after 6 long years, With TV hits like HUMSAFARS, DASTAAN, and Zindagi Gulzar hai, his popularity has been appreciated by the masses. For the past few years, khan had made some cameo appearances in MRS MARVEL, but this time he has returned to the big screen with this action drama period film.
“I’ll be very honest to you; I’ve lied to the rest – I’m just nervous and that’s it. I’m excited as well, but I’m more nervous,” said Fawad Khan in an interview.
His appearance is never seen before, we always loved him in the style he carried as Ashar(Humsafars) or Zaroon(Zindagi Gulzar hai), but this time he will be seen as a scary, wild, long hair and some scars on his face, but this is not the only surprise for the fans, we will be again witnessing the Ashar-khirad pair, yes Fawad khan will be seen opposite Mahira Khan, along with Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik in crucial roles, directed by Bilal Lashari. The film is set to release in October considered to be the big-budgeted film ever made in Pakistan.
What is Maula Jatt all about?
Maula Jatt is a reboot of Yunus Malik’s 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt. The film revolves around the rivalry between a local hero Maula Jatt and the leader of a brutal gang Noori Natt. To attain the personality of Maula was not easy for him, he was hospitalized because of the physical transformation needed in the film, and he had to gain a lot of weight in two months.
He mentioned, “Those two months were grueling, time at the gym was especially insane but because he (the character) is not exactly an Adonis, or a sculpted version of a Greek god, (I could manage well). Maula Jatta is more of an ‘Akhade ka Pahalwan’ (Arena wrestler), and it made the job easier. I did not have to worry much because it was a character that plays in the mud and does not give two hoots about hygiene. I did not need frequent makeup touch-ups.”
When asked about the film experience he had, he shared smilingly. “It gives me immense pleasure and is an honour to play the role of the legendary Maula Jatt. It was an absolute joy working with the team. I wish us the best of luck to all and I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I enjoyed it during the making.”
Not only this, the film VFX has been given to Lucid Studios, who have previously shown their creativity in Marvel movies Venom, Black Panther and Avengers. The action team which choreographed some popular Hollywood films like Gladiator and 300 choreographed the action part of the film.
The trailer has already received more than 60 million views across the globe, the audience is already applauding its trailer all over social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Working with Mahira Khan
Mahira khan will be seen opposite Fawad khan. She is a superstar in every sense. Having done some incredible work like Humsfars, Bin Roye, Sadquey tumhare, Raees and many more. Fans are delighted to watch this pair again on screen. They have sizzling chemistry which is always a treat to the viewers. Mahira khan gives a romance angle in the film, her on-screen name in the film is ‘Mukho’ bringing love, peace and humour to Jatt’s life. Hrithik Roshan reached out on social media to praise Mahira khan for her character Mukho by praising ‘Love it.’
The Legend of Maula Jatt is slated to get more than 420 overseas screens, to become the first Pakistani release in Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, the UK, CANADA, Australia and US except for India. Mr. khan said in an interview “Hopefully, it (his film’s global release) will put a foot in the door and open it wider for wider global releases for more Pakistani films. (I hope) the investment will also be better if that happens. Wish this one will have fruits for other films to cherish.”
Meanwhile, khan has several other projects lined up one of which is Neelofar opposite Mahira Khan, a love story of a writer and a blind lady, and an action comedy film Money Guarantee.
