Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11am, on Saturday praised the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna initiative, affirming that it had become a “major medium for bringing some socio-economic changes” in the country.
He was addressing after virtually conducting the ‘grih pravesh’ ceremony of over 4.51 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme by pressing a remote button in Madhya Pradesh’s, Satna district. The PM launched the “Rozgar Mela” on Saturday to recruit around 10 lakh people and emphasized his government’s efforts to generate jobs in the last eight years amidst the opposition’s continuous criticism of it on unemployment’s issue.
PM said his government during the COVID-19 pandemic period provided support of more than Rs 3 lakh crore to MSME sector, which averted the crisis to over 1.5 crore jobs.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh in his address after more than 75,000 newly inducted appointees were granted appointment letters for various government jobs in the first part said that PM Narendra Modi has constantly tried to create government jobs, new opportunities and avenues for livelihood and income for the youth of our country. Further, also added that from the beginning itself, the prime minister has given top priority to the concerns and issues related to the youth.
PM Modi accepted the challenges facing the economy in the world over with many countries hit by unemployment and a record inflation and said India is making every effort to get out of the situation unharmed, he said.
“It is a fact that the global scenario is not that good. In many countries, problems like unemployment and inflation are at their peak. Many large economies are struggling,” he said.
PM has given appointment letters to over 75,000 people
At a time when unemployment remains a major problem and is set to figure in the elections to Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, PM has given appointment letters to over 75,000 people for various government jobs. Earlier in the two states, only newbie Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has added job promises in Gujarat in its poll pitch, while in Himachal, it is one of the major narratives for all parties.
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal initially in Gujarat laid out the party’s detailed roadmap on the topic. He started with addressing the issue for government jobs of paper leaks in competitive exams, then also promised the people to provide 10 lakh jobs, and to provide all youths with jobs in the state in five years, at a public address in August, this year in Bhavnagar. He also promised of provisional unemployment allowance for youths, who didn’t get jobs.

PM Modi mentioned in his virtual event that, “Tourism and Manufacturing generate a lot of jobs, the government is currently focusing on expanding these sectors. India is the fifth largest economy in the world today. We have jumped from the tenth position to the fifth position, In the last 8 years.
It’s also true that many big economies in the world are struggling with unemployment and inflation, side effects of the major crisis in 100 years cannot just get away in 100 days, PM Modi said in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic. “India has become the 5th greatest economy in the world because of the reforms that were taken in the last 8 years and the efficiency of government departments has risen due to the efforts of our Karmayogis “, he said.
Also added, that despite the challenges, “India, with full force, some risks and new initiatives has been trying to protect itself from the global crisis. Till now, we’ve been able to save ourselves with your cooperation. We have minimized the issues which created hurdles in our economy, in the last 8 years”.
PM Modi also highlighted the PM MUDRA Yojana saying, “Women beneficiaries of PM MUDRA Yojana are about 70% and 8 crore women in the recent years have joined the self-help groups that are supported by the government financially”.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia called ‘Rozgar Mela’ on Saturday, a historic initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Scindia provided appointment letters to appointees in Bhopal today, at the Rozgar Mela event.
“A historic initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in terms of employment. Appointment letters were given to eligible beneficiaries and 75,000 youth in the country were provided jobs in various ministries and departments of the central government. Within a year, 10 lakh people will be provided jobs. The country will be headed by the youth”, Scindia told reporters.
