The Reasons for Energy Crises
Step 1: Take a big chainsaw and, with precision, slice off trees. This step will reduce greenery and lead to soil erosion and lack of oxygen starting off for our piece
Step 2: Take the remaining and heat them to burn, introducing forest fires and significant pollution. Bringing animals to the brink of extinction. Mix the slices and our powdery substance well in a bowl.
Step 3: After mixing well, add some carbon dioxide. Don’t worry about running out of it! Due to the ever-growing population of road vehicles and transportation, much carbon dioxide is released into the air.
Step 4: Garnish your delicious mix with the melted Greenland ice caps, and serve hot on the table.
The United Nations Environment Program kicked off its proceedings with the first recognition given to the delegate of Afghanistan. The delegate expressed concerns about the ongoing energy crisis in the world and how these 2 years of the pandemic have had severe impacts. The delegate, however, mentioned three ways to combat and fight against this dreaded crisis, starting with the collaboration of the whole world to defend against it.
Collaboration between different countries can lead to simplified solutions for the betterment of our planet. The second solution is to influence people to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy, which would benefit the environment and human life. An example of this is the United States of America, where the country is making miraculous efforts to reduce its dependency on coal by using renewable energy. The third point the delegate expressed was to cultivate regular meetings to keep track of the successes and failures of the proposed solutions.
The delegate of Australia also promoted their country’s contribution to tackling this grave crisis and stated that Australia is working on a new energy economy.
New Energy Economy
After the delegate from Australia, the delegate from Bahrain took the floor and acknowledged the fact that the global energy crisis has had long-lasting impacts. The delegate further stated that the country is running out of natural gas and has had meetings with Qatar, for further help. Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE are in dire need of natural gas.
Bahrain is now building an LNG receiving terminal, and Kuwait and Dubai already have one. It is not feasible for these countries to import LNG, which costs a great deal to produce, transport, and regasify when they could get cheap gas directly from short pipelines to Qatar. Furthermore, the delegate of Belgium stated that their country is transitioning to two carbon fuels so that they can make the country one of the leading states in combating this grave climate crisis.
Even though every country has conflicting opinions the one goal that unites them is their concerns about the ongoing energy resource and global crisis Hope remains that these shared interests lead to decisions further that help in curbing these energy crises and make the world a better place to live in.
