Shraddha’s lover, Aftab Amin poonwalla lights up the murder case with his shocking words!
He said he had made up his mind to kill Walker over a week, before the murder, according to the news agency ANI quoted Delhi Police sources as saying.
“A week before the murder, I had made up my mind to kill Walker alias Shraddha,” he said. Further, he added that even on the date of killing Shraddha, they both had a fight.
“He was determined to kill her when she became emotional and suddenly started crying. He held back for later,” the accused said in his confession.
On May 18, Aftab killed Shraddha. There was a quarrel between them that day too, Police said on further investigation.
Aftab first kills Shraddha and then dismembers her body. After killing Shraddha, he goes to the market and first buys a fridge that costs Rs 25,000. And, then he bought a butcher’s knife and polythene bags for chopping her body and kept them in the freezer, as per media reports.
“I was afraid as I knew that if I dumped the body somewhere, I might get caught. I browsed google all night for ways to dispose of the body and not arouse any suspicion. I also browsed what kind of chopper I would have to use to piece the body,” the Delhi police source quoted Aftab as saying.
Also, Aftab Confessed his fondness for watching shows and web series related to crime. And, these are borrowed from the experience of managing such shows, which preserve the chopped-off body parts and dispose of them later.
“I am fond of watching crime series. While watching these shows I came up with these ideas. I preserved her body parts and kept Shraddha alive in the eyes of her family and friends. It was to preempt any doubts or suspicions about whereabouts that I kept posting on Shradhha’s Instagram profile after the murder, Aftab said.”He did it all by himself,” the accused told Delhi police.
After the murder, he dismembers Shradha’s body and scatters it in the forest of south Delhi’s Chhatarpur.
Delhi police said that they had already recovered 12 body parts. However, police said the victim’s head hasn’t yet been traced.
According to legal experts, the judicial assessment of some cases makes them fit into the ‘rarest of the rarest category, not the nature of the crime’.
Advocate Ashish Dixit told India Today, “The Supreme Court has held that if a case set up by the prosecution is not proved beyond a reasonable doubt, then the accused is entitled to be acquitted. The prosecution has to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. Only after crossing this pivotal stage, can a case be considered for classification within the rarest of rare categories.”
“If the prosecution fails to prove its case, then the question does not arise. Only after the court is satisfied in convicting an accused, would it proceed to determine if the case falls within the rarest of rare categories for the purpose of sentencing,” Dixit added.
