The actress and actor Ranveer Singh, also husband and wife gave their fans the biggest surprise by showing a glimpse of the actress in the trailer of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming movie Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh. Deepika and Ranveer alongside Rohit Shetty launched the movie ‘Cirkus’ with an electrifying soundtrack ‘Current Laga Re’.
At the Press Conference held in Mumbai, Rohit Shetty also revealed details on the next installment of his hit action film ‘Singham’ and the next film in his Cop Universe. Rohit said that Deepika Padukone will headline the next film of the Singham franchise.
Rohit, also the director of the film also revealed that he kept getting asked who will play the role of a female cop in his upcoming film Singham 3. In the press conference itself, he cleared everyone’s queries by confirming that Deepika will be seen portraying the role of a female cop. The shooting for Singham 3 will commence next year in 2024, he added.
Rohit Shetty revealed that he is making Singham next and that everyone kept asking him who will be the lady cop in his cop universe. So, today he confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be seen in her Lady Singham avatar, in Singham 3. Rohit also shared that they will begin shooting for the movie next year, in 2024.
Can’t-Wait for Deepika and Rohit Shetty to collaborate
Actor Ranveer also revealed that Deepika Padukone’s portrayal as ‘Meenamma’ in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express is one of her best performances. He also expressed that he can’t wait for Deepika and Rohit Shetty to team up again.
While asked about this collaboration, Ranveer Singh is over the moon! As he shared that for him, Deepika’s best performance has to be Meenamma from ‘Chennai Express’. He further expressed that Deepika has done so many great films, but this one is just special as he absolutely can’t wait for Rohit Shetty and Deepika to team up again on a feature film. said Ranveer Singh.
Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe
Rohit Shetty is currently gearing up for his Web Series Indian Police Force. The web series is the extension of Rohit Shetty’s Copverse. Indian Police Force stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles. The exhilarating Web Series will be available on Amazon Prime Video. The series will also be Shetty’s debut on an OTT platform.
The various movies in Rohit Shetty’s copverse include Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. The Singham Franchise features Ajay Devgan in the titular role of Daring and justice-driven cop Bajirao Singham.
Now, Deepika Padukone has been introduced in Singham 3 in the role of a female cop. And, this movie marks the first on-screen collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone. The highly anticipated movie is expected to go on floors in mid-2023.
Deepika Padukone’s upcoming Projects
On the work front, the actress will star as the female lead in the highly anticipated Action packed movie ‘Pathaan’ with Shah Rukh Khan. She will also be seen in the film titled ‘Project K’ along with Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani.
Next, the ‘Padmaavat’ star will also be seen sharing screen space alongside Hritik Roshan in the movie ‘Fighter’. After showcasing their endearing Father-Daughter journey in ‘Piku’, Deepika will once again join forces with Amitabh Bachchan in the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film ‘ The Intern’.
