According to the ministry, transporting illegal narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances constitutes an offense under Section 8 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and is punishable in accordance with Sections 21, 23, and 29 of the same law.

She passed the Green Channel and was heading for the departure gate of the international arrival hall of T-3 when she was stopped by Customs based on specific information. She eventually admitted under interrogation that she had taken capsules containing an illicit drug.
