Review Of the film-Gumraah…
Twists, turns, suspense, and drama are necessary elements of a fascinating crime drama, and Gumraah offers many of these elements that interestingly unfold throughout the story.
Vardhan Ketkar’s version of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam expertly holds your attention from the first scene, in which a murder is committed, until the conclusion, in which the mystery is solved. The investigation officer Shivani Mathur (Mrunal Thakur), who must distinguish between the genuine perpetrator and two suspects with identical features, Arjun Saigal and Ronnie, adds intrigue to the mystery (Aditya Roy Kapur).
Even when the narrative shifts to flashbacks, the screenplay by writers Aseem Arora and Magizh Thirumeni and Ketkar’s sharp direction ensures that the plot moves along rapidly for the most part. There are twists ready to lift things up again when it does lose some momentum, mostly in the initial portion as the tale builds. Very done in gathering data that supports both of the guys equally. The film doesn’t really overdo the case of mistaken identity because it does not employ double-roll cliches. Although being a simple story, the plot lines are captivating, and the narrative improves with a novel history.
The fact that the movie is based on actual events makes it even more intriguing. Thus, although the story appears a little improbable, the instances provided at the conclusion will persuade you.Â
The background score by Ketan Sodha heightens the tension, and the songs on the album are catchy. The title tune by Abhijit Vaghani and Mithoon’s Allah De Bande particularly stand out.
The fact that the movie is based on actual events makes it even more intriguing. Thus, although the story appears a little improbable, the instances provided at the conclusion will persuade you.
Gumraah is a compelling drama with unexpected turns and strong storytelling that makes it worthwhile to see in a theatre. Although the reason for the killing may not have been very surprising, the mystery will keep you interested until the very end.
The acting of Actors….
Aditya Roy Kapur plays two characters, and he or she does a superb job in each of them. Each has unique tones, and they both did a great job of displaying those tones. Mrunal Thakur is now a police officer and has a stunning appearance. She also does excellent acting. It’s entertaining to observe her as a police officer. Ronit Roy did a fantastic job portraying the ACP.
Direction
Although Vardhan Ketkar does a terrific job directing, the first half needs improvement. There ought to have been some surprises as well. Yet the second half’s direction is superb. For a split second, you don’t blink.
Music
The music of Ketan Sodha is passable. Such a movie shouldn’t have many songs, but there are a few that are just mediocre. Such a song does not exist, as you recall. In conclusion, you should watch this movie if you enjoy watching crime thrillers.
