BJP demanded an explanation after Ghulam Nabi Azad retaliated against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today after Gandhi had linked five former Congressmen, including him, to Gautam Adani in a tweet the previous day. Azad claimed that while he has no connections to any businesspeople, the Congress family is connected to many of them.
Gandhi’s attendence to these meetings have been questioned by the BJP. The party has also demanded that the identities of these businessmen and the reason for such meetings be made public.
It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi implied that the previous Congress leaders may have invested in the Adani Group in a graphic he uploaded on April 8 that combined the Adani Group with five former leaders of the party: Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiran Kumar Reddy, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Anil Antony. The other four are members of the BJP, with the exception of Azad.
Azad in dismay
Then Ghulam Nabi Azad claimed that Rahul Gandhi meets unsavory businessmen while travelling abroad. Azad responded, “It is shameful that Rahul Gandhi is saying this,” when asked about Rahul Gandhi’s tweet in an interview with a news channel. He further told that their entire family has always been connected to businesspeople and that Rahul Gandhi is part of it. Although he admitted his admiration for the family as well.
In a graphic he posted on April 8 that included the Adani Group along with five former party leaders—Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiran Kumar Reddy, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Anil Antony—it is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi suggested that the previous Congress leaders might have invested in the Adani Group. The other four, with the exception of Azad, are BJP members. The names of the five former Congress leaders are represented in the picture by each letter of the word Adani, which also acts as the Adani group’s logo.
Bharat Jodo Yatra- not impactful
Ghulam Nabi Azad stated he disagrees that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra helped the Congress party while discussing other issues. Many claim that Rahul Gandhi’s influence has grown since the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Like many others in the nation, I likewise thought that. But over the last ten days, I’ve come to recognise that he has no influence,” Azad added.
“Mrs. Gandhi was disqualified and imprisoned in 1978. More than a lakh people were imprisoned in a short period of time. There was no room inside the jail, so ten lakh people were waiting outside. I was joined by 10,000 people as we marched in protest to Parliament. I spent almost a month in Tihar Jail.
After the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi was instantly disqualified and incarcerated, and not a single bug has since cried out or crossed the road. He was required to travel to Surat court with members of the Delhi working committee, Delhi MPs, and Gujarat MLAs. No Gujarati farmer or young person participated, he continued.
Downfall of Congress
Azad claimed that a half-dozen individuals were to blame for the party’s demise. He stated that he does not feel very delighted over the downfall of Congress just because of the foolishness of some people, as their interest lies only in their personal image in the public and media.
He stated that the younger generation is 10 times more dissatisfied with the leadership than the elders like him when discussing the departure of young Congress politicians to rival parties like the BJP. ” The majority of those who departed belonged to Rahul Gandhi’s group. They quit as a result of Rahul Gandhi’s lack of leadership and guidance, according to Azad.
