Instagram has announced that additional capabilities will be added to the app’s “Your Activity” settings. Thanks to the new capabilities, users will monitor and control all of their activity in one location. This feature can delete or archive large amounts of content and interactions in bulk.
Users could previously set how much time they spent on Instagram, set notifications, and view their interaction history through ‘Your Activity.’ Thanks to the new updates, this particular setting now has many more capabilities and controls.Â
Users will be able to sort and filter their material and interactions based on date periods and search for previous comments, Likes, Stories, and other interactions. For example, the Interactions page will show you anything you’ve liked on the site, as well as any comments or Story responses you’ve made.
This feature will benefit someone to delete comments and only look at an old post they enjoyed a few days ago.Â
They can also utilize this capability to locate content that has been deleted or archived before. On the platform, users can view their search history, as well as the sites they’ve considered and the amount of time they spent there.
Previously, the company offered a ‘Security checkup’ to users who suspected their accounts had been hacked. This feature is now available to everyone on the planet.
Checking login activity, examining profile information, confirming the accounts that share login information, and updating account recoveries contact information such as a phone number or email address are steps in the security checkup that help people secure their accounts.
In addition, when users make a post that violates the company’s Community Guidelines, it will now appear in Account Status.
Let us take a look at what Instagram has in store for us this year:
Instagram’s Chronological Order Feed:
The platform’s head, Adam Mosseri, has stated that the chronological feed will be reinstated for users. Mosseri revealed earlier this year that Instagram would allow users to choose what appears in their feeds to deploy a chronological feed.
Users will have three sorting options, according to Mosseri, to choose from: Home, Favorites, and Following. Only posts from accounts you’ve starred or marked as “favorite” will appear in the Favorites section.
Users may now filter out the unending posts from people or pages that they don’t care about. Finally, there is a Following feed, which will display posts in chronological order. This is akin to when Instagram had a simpler platform where, unless you wanted to “Discover,” you only saw posts from individuals you followed.
Rearrange Posts in Feed
Instagram is rumored to be developing a new tool that would allow users to alter their profile grid. This implies that Instagram users will be able to reorganize their posts, which are now sorted by the date they were uploaded.
Last month, a reverse engineer discovered the impending functionality on Twitter. Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, discovered the feature and uploaded two screenshots of it on Twitter. The first screenshot shows the “Edit profile” page’s Profile details section, which includes a new “Edit Grid” option.
As demonstrated in the second example, tapping on this new option opens a new window that displays the user’s profile grid.
3D Avatars for Stories
With its metaverse goals, parent firm Meta has begun introducing 3D avatars for Instagram Stories and direct messages, as well as updating current avatars in Facebook and Messenger. The new 3D avatars are viewed as the company’s initial move toward creating people’s appearances for the well-known metaverse.
Users in the United States, Canada, and Mexico are the only ones who can use the new avatars. These will display as people’s faces on Meta’s platforms and services, including stickers, feed posts, Facebook profile photographs, and more.
Instagram’s new 3D avatars will contain new facial types as well as assistive devices like implants, hearing aids, wheelchairs, and more, according to a blog post published earlier this month.
 Instagram Follower Subscriptions
Instagram users will soon be able to pay for access to exclusive content from their favorite influencers. The functionality, which will first be available in the United States, is already available in a trial phase.
In a blog post last month, the firm introduced the new functionality, stating that it is now testing with a small number of artists and that more influencers will be added to the platform in the coming weeks.
Only ten creators are now participating in the early test, including a basketball player, an Olympian, an astrologer, and others.
Instagram Profile Embeds
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri introduced the new Instagram Profile Embed feature in a Twitter post. Apart from being able to embed single posts and videos, users will now be able to embed miniature versions of their profiles with the new functionality, according to him.
People will be able to get a sneak peek into your profile with this tool, which is currently only available in the United States. It is said to assist creators, brands, and other enterprises in promoting their Instagram pages on other websites.
