The international film festival known as The Cannes film festival is a grand event held every year in Cannes, France previews documentaries and films of all genre from all around the world. Popular celebrities are invited to this event. The 2024’s Cannes Film festival marks as the 76th Cannes. It will be taking place from 16th May to 27th May. Swedish director Ruben Ostlund will preside over the jury. Actress Catherine Deneuve was featured on the official festival poster, which was produced by Lionel Avignon and Stefan de Vivies at Hartland Villa using a picture taken by Jack Garofalo during the filming of La Chamade. To honour Deneuve for her contributions to filmmaking, the poster was chosen.

A Maïwenn – directed performance of Jeanne du Barry will kick off the event. Elemental, a Pixar movie with a Peter Sohn-directed final scene, will wrap up the festival. Some of the films that were chosen to be screened in Cannes Classics are, The Chosen One (1990) directed by Aribam Syam Sharma, produced in India, Contempt (1963) directed by Jean-Luc Godard, produced in France, IT (1966) directed by Ulrich Schamoni, produced in Germany, Man on Pink Corner (1962) directed by René Mugica, produced in Argentina, Spellbound (1945) directed by Alfred Hitchcock, produced in United states, The village (1953) directed by Leopold Lindtberg, produced in Switzerland, and many more.
The documentaries that were chosen to screen at the Cannes are, Room 999 directed by Lubna Playoust, produced in France, The Family directed by Michel Denisot & Florent Maille produced in France, 100 years of Warner Bros, directed by Leslie Iwerks, produced in United States, Liv Ullmann – A Road Less Travelled directed by Dheeraj Akolkar, produced in Norway, Michael Douglas, The Prodigal Son directed by Amine Mestari , produced in France, and a few others.
Many Indian celebrities are often featured at the Cannes film festival. Actress and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar will represent India on the red carpet in Cannes, this year. Esha Gupta, Kangabam Tomba and the Oscar winner Guneet Monga along with the Union Minister L Murugan, will be present at the event. The L’Oréal brand ambassador is also expected to be there at the event to celebrate the women of cinema.
 Anushka Sharma and Mrunal Thakur will be making their first appearance at the Cannes 2024. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been a popular attender of the Cannes, will also be attending this year, followed by Aditi Rao Hydari. Cannes have invited influencers this year like, dolly Singh. Many others like Sara Ali Khan, and Ayushmann Khurrana will also be seen at the event.
