In the vibrant initial glimpse of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani,” a movie directed by Karan Johar in celebration of his 25th anniversary,
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt emerge as the freshest couple in the Dharma cinematic universe. The posters featuring this actor duo, who previously shared the screen in 2019’s Gully Boy, were unveiled on Johar’s 51st birthday.
Filmmaker Karan Johar unveiled the initial glimpses of his forthcoming romantic comedy, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, on his 51st birthday.
Originally scheduled for release on February 10, the movie’s premiere date has now been rescheduled to July 28.
Faces of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’
Recently, fans were treated to fresh appearances of Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, portraying the characters of Rani and Rocky, along with their ‘parivaar’ (family), offering a sneak peek into the film.
Johar’s film production company, Dharma Productions, unveiled exclusive previews of Singh portraying the character of Rocky and Bhatt in the role of Rani on their official Twitter account..
Ranveer’s character, Rocky, exudes a stylish and confident persona, sporting a black motorcycle jacket adorned with sharp studs.
Alia’s character, Rani, is depicted in an elegant contemporary sari, accentuated by smoky eyes, a black decorative dot on the forehead, and a well-placed nose ring.
The upcoming film, categorized as a family drama, marks Johar’s return to directing since his 2016 film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He first stepped into the director’s role in 1998 with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.

During an interview a couple of years ago, Karan expressed that the film he was working on belonged to the same realm as “KKHH.”
He mentioned that as a filmmaker, he had experienced various phases of growth and development. However, amidst the pandemic, he felt a strong desire to create a movie that could transport him back to the feeling of being 25 years old.
At that age, the only film that came to his mind and that he could create was “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” as it encapsulated all the movies he had grown up watching.
He described it as a tribute to the legendary filmmakers’ Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, and Sooraj Barjatya.
Karan unveiled four fresh movie posters that showcase the dynamic duo of Alia and Ranveer. These posters capture various vibrant musical moments from the film.
In his caption, Karan stated, “Prepare to immerse yourself in Rocky & Rani’s captivating world! But hold on, there’s more excitement to come as you’ll soon meet their family as well!”
Later on, he also shared photographs of the ‘parivaar.’ Karan introduced the Randhawas and the Chatterjees, the two families central to the film.
Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog, and Anjali Anan portray members of Rocky’s family, while Shabana Azmi and Tota Roy Choudhury play roles as members of Rani’s family.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy, is set to be released in theatres on July 28.
A teaser that was released earlier showcased the first appearances of Alia, Ranveer, Jaya Bachchan, and Dharmendra, who are part of the cast.
Interestingly, the film’s title was spelt differently during the teaser release.
The latest posters not only display the revised spelling but also announce that the movie will be available for streaming on Prime Video after its theatrical release.
