Home Minister Amit Shah questioned Chief Minister Charanjit Channi over the security breach of PM Narendra Modi last month; PM to address public rallies in Jalandhar today.
With days to come before Punjab goes for its State Assembly Elections, campaigns have geared up all around the state. On Sunday, 13th February, Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Ludhiana while campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party.
Mr.Shah had given blistering remarks on Chief Minister Channi’s capabilities to look after the security of the state and governance. Taking a jibe at the CM, he said,” Channi Sahab is not capable of securing Punjab, and it is not a comedy show to run a state like Punjab.”
Moving forward, he had taken a deep dive into the security breach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised the question of whether a CM who was incapable of giving a safe passage for the Prime Minister to travel is even capable of securing Punjab’s safety.
He further mentioned that the issue of forced conversion has grown in Punjab, and the CM can’t stop it; even Arvind Kejriwal cannot stop forced conversions, only BJP is capable of doing it. BJP is not the only party attacking CM Channi right now. Instead, AAP and BSP have also started questioning Channi’s nephews associated with illegal sand mining activities.
Dr. Charanjit, the representative of the Aam Admi Party who lost the seat in the previous election to CM Channi, commented that he is the real ‘ aam aadmi’ and that after all these years, he has kept in touch with the people of Chamkaur Sahib, Channi’s constituency. Dr. Charanjit also questioned the CM of Punjab’s illegal affiliations with the sand mining activities and the amount of money he has made.
Modi questioned how a party that fights among itself could be given the charge to lead the state of Punjab, an integral part of India. In his rally on Monday, PM Modi had said that he wants to make Punjab a drug-free state and that he has worked in the past to do so.
In this regard, PM mentioned that he understands the need of the youth in Punjab and the necessity to prevent drugs in the state. He went on to congratulate Capt. Amrinder Singh, on being a part of his campaign. could
PM had promised a “Nava Punjab” to form a government after the elections.
The incumbent CM also made claims regarding the construction of 25000 new houses for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Mohali, etc. According to his latest plans in every EWS area, 80 percent of the area that is 85 units per acre would be set aside for the building of houses, and the rest of the site would be used for the construction of schools and playgrounds, dispensaries, etc
