On Monday night, Ezra Miller appeared in public for the first time in almost two years when he went to the Los Angeles premiere of DC Studios’ ‘The Flash.’
Warner Bros. held the long-awaited DC spinoff ‘The Flash’ premiere on Monday night in Hollywood with its star Ezra Miller making his red carpet debut following several tabloid headlines about alleged assaults in Hawaii and illegal trespassing at a neighbor’s house in Vermont.
Miller at the premiere
Ezra Miller, who plays The Flash, made a rare public appearance at the DC movie’s premiere on Monday, posing for pictures and speaking briefly to the crowd in Hollywood after avoiding the spotlight in the run-up to the movie.
Miller also thanked Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, Peter Safran, and James Gunn for their kindness, wisdom, and consideration in the context of his life and in the creation of the movie, in addition to Abdy and De Luca.
Miller hasn’t done any press for the movie, and like many other aspects of The Flash, the premiere wasn’t your standard Hollywood affair. The premiere did not include interviews with the cast, which included Ben Affleck and Sasha Calle, as well as Zaslav and DC Studios co-heads Gunn and Safran. Stars and executives did, however, walk the carpet.
In one of his first public remarks since August 2022, Miller stated he thinks filmmaker Andy Muschietti is outstanding and that his work is monumental. In a general apology for previous actions, including trespassing and choking a woman in Iceland in an event captured on tape, they gave severe mental health difficulties as the reason last year.
Following that apology, Miller met with Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca, the heads of Warners’ film division. On Monday night, Miller thanked them both as well as Zack and Deborah Snyder, who had originally chosen Miller to play The Flash back in 2014.
Miller and The Flash
The Flash was promoted as one of the finest superhero movies ever before before it was even released by Zaslav and Gunn. Reviews were more straightforward, and the movie earned a respectable 71 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
The road to becoming The Flash has been lengthy. Miller, who appeared in 2017’s Justice League, was originally chosen to play the protagonist in the movie in late 2014. Along the way, a number of famous Hollywood writers and directors, including John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves and Rick Fukuyama of The Mandalorian, attempted to make a Flash solo movie. Chris Miller sought to write their own version of the movie with comic book writer Grant Morrison after Phil Lord and Miller wrote a treatment for it in 2015.
In the end, Muschietti, along with DC favourite Christina Hodson, who wrote the script, and his producing spouse, Barbara Muschietti, cracked the secret.
Because it took three and a half years to complete and others waited even longer, Muschietti claimed that they believed the movie would never be released. He closed by saying he hoped it had been worth the wait.
The Flash’s premiere
Miller showed up on the Ovation Hollywood red carpet with a bun and dressed in a white blazer and black jeans. Sasha Calle, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Maribel Verd, and Jessica Chastain were among the other celebrities that were spotted on the red carpet.
Warner has occasionally hosted premieres without interviews in the past. One such movie was Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which had to deal with issues with J.K. Rowling, Johnny Depp’s replacement, and Miller’s arrest, who had also starred in that trilogy.
The 2019 movie Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, also had a premiere without any interviews because the movie was the subject of controversy when the victims of the 2012 Aurora, Colorado, shooting of The Dark Knight Rises voiced their worries about it in public.
