Both countries enjoy mutual trade benefits. The United States of America has become the country’s largest trading partner, with a total trade aggregate of $91 billion in 2022. India is investing in the U.S. in terms of the pharma and IT sectors. With a total of $4 million from the India-U.S. diaspora.

Both of the countries conduct political activities to edify both diplomatic and cultural ties. In this queue, high-level visits between both countries are worth mentioning. There are also other platforms for the same, such as India-US-Japan trilateral meets, QUAD summits, etc.
Challenges in the relationship
Both countries face several challenges when it comes to the present dynamic global scenario. India’s close ties and dependence on Russia when it comes to defence supplies have turned out to be a loophole in the relationship, which has further led to CAATSA (Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanction Acts). Several economy-related challenges arise when it comes to mini-trade wars between countries and the scenarios of Cold War Generation 2.
There have been challenges regarding the country’s high trade barriers, which have been stepped up to protect India’s domestic market but foster challenges between both countries. Not only this, but the U.S. put a cap on the issuing of H-IB visas, which had been turning into a root cause of conflict among the IT professionals in the country’s native in America.
Hence, solving the issues between the two countries through mutual agreements and taking a negative stance on the issue of Russia can prove beneficial for both countries. This will not only help both countries develop each other but will also help India have majority control over the Indo-Pacific region.
