According to the Hitman Sniper Twitter account, a new Hitman Sniper game will be released on Android and iOS on March 3rd. It’s called Hitman Sniper: The Shadows and Square Enix first revealed it at E3 in 2021.
Pre-registration begins today, and you can do so either directly through the official site or Google’s system via the new Play Store listing. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows will have a new storyline and six playable characters. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, unlike the previous game, will be a free-to-play title.

Those who want to be among the first to receive special incentives upon launch can pre-register now on the official site or the Google Play Store if you’re using an Android device. Players will not have to pay anything for Hitman Sniper: The Shadows because it is not a premium game.
In terms of gameplay, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows appears to be following the same formula as the previous mobile games. Contracts will be assigned to you, and you’ll snipe targets from afar.
There are six different agents to pick from, each with its own set of skills and backstories. According to the game’s Google Play Store page, the game also has a PvP aspect, as you’ll be able to compete against other players.
What we do know about Hitman Sniper: The Shadows is that it will have six playable characters, each with their own set of skills, suggesting that you’ll have to pick the proper person for each task to keep things fresh. We also know that the game will have an all-new scenario for the franchise, in which Agent 47 goes missing, and the new crew of six is tasked with saving the day.
You can choose an agent at the start of each round and use their distinct skills to find inventive ways to eliminate them one by one without being detected. When bodies are placed into bushes or garbage bins, timing your shots is an excellent technique to keep them from being discovered.
Bullet sounds like previously can be employed as a distraction to draw prey into a certain region or poisoned for rapid death. There is an online PvP (player against the player) game option, according to the Google Play page; however, it does not disclose the number of maps, which was a major worry in the first game, resulting in repetitive gaming.
If you enjoy Hitman games, The Shadows and its band of extremely skilled assassins will most certainly satisfy your sniper-game cravings. Keep in mind that while this is a free-to-play game, in-game purchases will be available, but we expect that they will not negatively impact player performance.
So, let’s hope Square hasn’t become too greedy; however, if you look at the new Apple App Store listing (which, unlike the Play Store, lists game purchases by item), coin packs are the soup du jour, with prices ranging from $27.99 per pack.
Square appears to be aggressively testing the game in Canada and Brazil, as the Canadian Play Store listing shows over 100K downloads and in-app purchases ranging from $66.99 to $66.99.
Keep in mind that this is most likely in Canadian dollars, which equals about $52 in US dollars. So, while we don’t know what kind of commercialization we’ll see on March 3rd, IAPs are currently in place and can be used to buy in-game currency.
