Yoga Day, also known as International Day of Yoga, is celebrated annually on June 21st. It was first proposed by our prime minister, Narendra Modi, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The proposal received overwhelming support, and on December 11th, 2014, the United Nations declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga.
Alia Bhatt, well known for her acting skills and massive box office hits also shares her love for fitness. Yoga is one of the practices she incorporates into her fitness routine. With yoga day just around the corner, we share with you the secrets of Alia Bhatt’s fitness and how she rediscovered her fit body after pregnancy.
She had gained quite a lot after becoming a mother in 2022. She recently shared in an interview how she was labeled ‘fat’ while auditioning for a film.
Alia has evidently been passionate about fitness since quite long now. Remember when she lost 12 kg in just 3 months for her debut film, ‘Student of the Year’.?
She restarted her fitness journey just a month after her delivery. She was spotted several days outside her gym. Alia shared on instagram how she took ‘baby steps’ during the first few weeks of being back.
Alia’s Yoga Routine
She performs aerial yoga which improves flexibility, balance and stability. She also does ‘surya namaskar’ on a daily basis. It helps with weight loss, strengthens muscles and joints, improves digestion and ensures regular menstrual cycle. Her trainer recently shared that Alia successfully attempted 108 ‘surya namaskars’ for the first time post pregnancy. Other asanas she practices includes Bhujangasana, Butterfly and Viparata Karani. It includes health benefits such as better respiratory system, flexibility in shoulder and joint muscles.
In order to maintain her health and weight she also keeps a track of the food she eats. She shared that her food includes protein, healthy fats, fibers, fruits and vegetables along with fresh juices. She is also keen about ‘Pilates’ ; a type of mind-body exercise. Let’s have a look at Alia’s beetroot salad recipe which she recently shared.
Alia Bhatt’s Must-Try Beetroot Salad Recipe For Weight Loss
1. Grated Beetroot 1/2 cup.
2. Plain curd 1 1/2 tbsp.
3. Pink Salt as required.
4. Roasted jeera powder 1/2 tsp.

6. Chopped mint 1 tsp.
7. Oil 1/2 tsp.
8. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp.
9. Green chilli 1.
Method:
Step 1- Take 1 beetroot, wash it after peeling and boil it for some time.
Step 2- Put yogurt or curd into a bowl of boiled and grated beets. Combine everything thoroughly. You can even use hung curd to make it thicker in texture.
Step 3- Add chaat masala and a sprinkle of black pepper. Also, add a few coriander and mint leaves.
Step 4- For the tadka, heat a pan and pour some oil in it, and add a pinch of hing, mustard and cumin along with curry leaves.
Step 5- Remove the tadka bowl from the stove and blend it with the beetroot yogurt mixture.
Your deliciously healthy snack or meal is ready to be served and consumed. It will keep your diet in check and will also give you a weekly facial glow!
