Rohit stepped forward to defend the out-of-form Kohli
The Indian (captain Rohit Sharma) team has arrived in Kolkata, also known as the ‘City of Joy,’ after a 3-0 ODI series victory. At Eden Gardens, Squad India will take on the West Indies, the best T20 team in the world.
Today will be the first encounter of the three-match T20 series between the two sides. The Caribbean squad has won the world championship two times.
When asked about Virat Kohli’s form in the press conference, Team India captain Rohit Sharma was enraged. During the T-20 series against the West Indies, he defended Virat Kohli in a press conference.
Former skipper Virat Kohli was a complete washout in the one-day series against the West Indies. Everything will be OK if the media calms down for a few moments. On February 16, the T-20 series with the West Indies will begin.
Following rumors of a conflict between the two during the South African trip before the West Indies series, Kohli resigned as captain after the Test series.
Rohit was asked many questions about Kohli during the press conference, and he didn’t appear happy. Rohit went on to say that if you (the media) quit talking about Virat, everything will be OK. Kohli is not under any pressure, and he will perform admirably shortly.
ROHIT ON HARDIK PANDYA
“Our schedule is quite busy, so the players are going to get injured,” Rohit Sharma remarked when asked by star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is out of Team India.
The notion is that we should provide people who can perform well to play instead of the wounded player. Hardik Pandya is a key player and a fantastic all-rounder. We haven’t talked about whether or not he can solely play as a batsman.
We’ll talk about it once he’s recovered. “Everyone is welcome at the team,” Rohit remarked. We don’t make snap judgments. We aim to enter every game with the best possible team. The T-20 World Cup will take place in Australia, and we will confront a variety of challenges there.
We require a diverse range of players. That’s why, at every point, we seek to strengthen our party.
Rohit Sharma (capt), Ishaan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (vice-captain), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Aveshwar Kumar, Rituraj Gaekwad, Deepak Hooda, and Kuldeep Yadav.
