A horrific video went viral of a man from Chintamani who slitted the throat of another man who got close too his wife. Upon slitting the throat he even drank his blood, all activities recorded in video, leading the police to take action immediately.
The victim has survived but in critical condition
Fortunately, Maresh, the victim survived as the knife was small, but he is in serious condition. Vijay, a 32 year old trader from Mandyampet was enraged by the suspected closeness of victim and his wife. His clear intention was to murder Maresh whole Vijay’s cousin peacefully recorded the dreadful incident which happened occurred near Siddepalli Cross in Chintamani taluk on June 19.
Police official’s statement about the matter
According to the police, it is alleged that Maresh was becoming too familiar with Vijay’s wife, and they were frequently chatting on their phones. Vijay and his family, originally from Andhra Pradesh, settled in Chintamani three decades ago. They lived in Mandyampet but constantly moved from one village to another, engaging in various businesses such as selling edible oil, clothes, vegetables, and other essential items. Maresh owned a Tata Ace vehicle and would rent it out for transporting goods, which Vijay would often hire.

Maresh was engaged in continuous chats with Vijay’s wife, which Vijay was aware of. He also warned Maresh multiple times of the consequences, but he didn’t stop the chats.

On 19th of June, Vijay contacted his cousin John Babu who is a B.Com student. He asked Babu to engage Maresh to come along for a rental trip Sidepalli cross to a farm nearby. Maresh agreed upon their mutual connection. As Maresh arrived on his vehicle, he went along with Vijay and his cousin on a bike. However, instead of taking him to agreed destination of tomato farm, they took him to a secluded place. Vijay then attempted to murder him and made Babu to film all the happenings.

After the action the accused and cousin left the spot. Maresh somehow successfully managed to get medical help and survived. He still refrained to file a police complaint but the video made the police take action.
