Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, will hit theatres on July 21.
The summer is just about approaching, and with it one of 2024’s most anticipated movie releases – Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” movie. After months of internet banter over the movie, it is set to be released in July. Barbie is the star of a whopping forty animated films, starting with Barbie in the Nutcracker (2001) and ending with Barbie: Skipper and the Big Babysitting Adventure (2024).
Since 2009, the live-action film has been under development. Leading lady Anne Hathaway and Comedian Amy Schumer were initially considered for the lead role, but Margot Robbie ended up getting the role.
Margot is also well-known for other roles, notably the character of Tonya Harding in the movie “I, Tonya,” for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, and Harley Quinn in the DC Universe. With the release of the black comedy The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, she made a name for herself. Her prominent performance as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) helped her get more notoriety.
Ryan Gosling will take on the part of Ken opposite Margot in the movie. But wait, there is more than one ken? It has been disclosed that Ncuti Gatwa, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, as well as Scott Evans will all play Ken in addition.
But there’s more Barbie too? Yes. According to reports, Barbies Emma Mackey, Nicola Coughlan, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, Dua Lipa, Issa Rae, Sharon Rooney, Ritu Arya, and Emerald Fennell will also appear.
According to the character posters issued by Warner Brothers, other performers, such as America Ferrera and Will Ferrell, will serve as human figures. The sole male doll character apart from Ken will be performed by Michael Cera; the character’s name is Allan. Midge, Allan’s expectant wife, will be portrayed by Emerald Fennell, while Helen Mirren will be narrating the movie.
Can the film be watched by children?
It’s known that Barbie and Ken make a great part of everyone’s childhood. The comedy-fantasy movie, co-written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, gets a PG-13 classification. Thus, kids can watch it too under parental supervision.

Artists like Ice Spice, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Khalid, and even Ryan Gosling will appear in the Barbie Movie. The film album will be released alongside the film on 21st July, 2024.
The Barbie World from the Inside
In June, Architectural Digest alongside Margot gave fans a peek inside Barbie’s Dream Home.Robbie claims that Barbie’s home has both tangible items and stickers and decorations that give the scene the appearance of a Mattel doll.
She can use the slide in her bedroom, for instance, to descend to the pool in the morning. But since there are no real elements in Barbie Land, the water in Barbie’s pool is merely a decal.
Barbie’s home features a bar and a wardrobe that can choose and put on the clothes for her every day. In Barbie Land, each resident has a transparent home so they can interact with one another.
The Barbies simply glide into their vehicles instead of having to descend steps to get there.
Gerwig revealed that the many pink hues featured throughout Barbie’s home were so crucial to get perfect that the staff held numerous meetings to debate the colour.
The memes that continue to surface over Barbie versus Christian Nolan’s Oppenheimer, also to be released on the 21st of July this year, are entertaining and hilarious. The public eagerly anticipates the premiere of both films.
