The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold webinars for teachers on January 27th as a part of their CBSE reading mission 2021-23 campaign. Â
About the webinarÂ
The board notified the teachers of schools enrolled with CBSE about the webinar on January 26th. The board announced the webinar on their official Twitter handle. The tweet read, “CBSE under the Reading Mission Campaign announces webinars for teachers. Join us for a live session on January 27th 2022
The theme of the webinar is “storytelling as a pedagogy”. The programme will be a live session, and teachers can access it on CBSE’s YouTube page, named ‘CBSE academic and training’. The live session is scheduled to begin at 3 pm on January 27th. Â
About CBSE’S Reading Mission CampaignÂ
The board initiated the Reading Mission Campaign in September 2021. The campaign was begun to promote reading and literacy as a part of National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020. The campaign, which started in 2021, will be held till 2024 and will assist in encouraging students to read books. Â
The campaign will also organize webinars for the teachers to talk about the importance of reading books in school. The campaign scheduled for January 27th 2022, is a part of the same campaign. Â
The board will also provide reading material in English and Hindi to all the schools affiliated with the board. The reading material will consist of storybooks in both languages and other complementary resources for classes 1 to 8. The committee will also involve reading challenges in English and Hindi as a part of their initiative.Â
