Simon Leviev, who reportedly scammed three women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, has been the focus of attention since Netflix’s documentary “The Tinder Swindler” was aired.
Following the release of the Netflix documentary, Shimon Hayut, also known as Simon Leviev, has stated that he wants to clear his reputation.
The Tinder Swindler follows three women who claim Leviev defrauded them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by duping them into a romantic scam while claiming to be in distress.
Leviev persuaded the women that he was wealthy by flying them on private planes and lavishing them with extravagant gifts and holidays.
He would subsequently take advantage of their trust to demand money, throwing them into deep debt.
Cecilie Fjellhy, Pernilla Sjoholm, and Ayleen Charlotte, who were scammed of 185,000, 103,000, and 25,000 pounds, are in debt. Since its release, Leviev has criticized the documentary, stating that it is a “made-up movie.”
Being questioned whether he’s the son of a billionaire diamond mogul, Hayut responded that he’s never claimed to be the son of a mogul.
To this, he said that he never claimed to be one. He further adds he doesn’t “feel bad” for the women who have spoken out against him in the documentary since he knows he
“did not do what they have alleged.” “They weren’t conned, and they weren’t threatened,”
Leviev stated in his interview with Inside Edition.
To explain his extravagant lifestyle, Hayut claimed to be a
“legitimate businessman.” “I want to clear my image, I want to inform the world that this isn’t true,”
he stated. In addition, Hayut said that he bought Bitcoin in 2011. “I don’t need to say how much it’s worth now.”
Hayut’s girlfriend spoke up quickly in the early half of the interview to support him and argue that the claims made against him by the ladies in the documentary are a ‘stunt.’
“My God, how can someone build such a fake stunt?”
She also clarified that Hayut has never taken out a loan from her. Hayut was also asked what he would say to critics who called him a
“fast talker, a fraud, and a fake.” “I’m not a fraud, and I’m not a fake,”
he said.
“People don’t know me, so they cannot judge me.”
Leviev says that he was just a single guy on Tinder seeking dates.
“I’m not this monster,” says he. “On Tinder, I was just a single man looking to meet some females.”
Tinder and other dating apps like Hinge, OkCupid, and Hinge, among others, have banned him.
Leviev deactivated his Instagram account after the documentary’s release, but he was back in less than a week. He defended himself on social media, and his account shows that he continues to live the luxurious lifestyle he had previously.
“Why would I act on Netflix if I was a fraud? They should have arrested me while we were still filming.”
It’s past time for the females to start speaking up.
“If you can’t offer them the world, they’ll turn yours into hell,” he said on his Instagram story, breaking the silence.
