Zelensky issues stark warning of war returning to Russia as latest drone attack damages building in Moscow.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a decisive message on Sunday as he warned that the specter of “war” was drawing ever closer to Russia. His statement came in the aftermath of the attack where three Ukrainian drones were downed over Moscow early on Sunday. As per the reports of the defense ministry of Russia, in the drone attack, two office towers were damaged, and an International airport experienced a temporary shutdown.
During his visit to the western city of Ivano- Frankivsk President Zelensky asserted that the war was gradually encroaching upon Russian territory, targeting symbolic centers and military bases. He emphasized that this development was an inevitable, natural, and entirely justified consequence, further raising the stakes in the escalating geopolitical situation.
While highlighting Ukraine’s Progress and growing strength, the president also issued a cautionary note to his countrymen, urging them to brace for the possibility of a new attack on the nation’s energy infrastructure during the approaching winter season. The rise of such an attack, Zelensky warned, could have severe consequences for the stability and welfare of the nation.

Separately, on Sunday, Moscow claimed that its forces successfully foiled a Ukrainian attempt to launch an attack on Russia-annexed Crimea using 25 drones. According to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin of Moscow, there were no casualties, and the damage was limited to the facade of two office buildings in the early hours of Sunday in the Moscow city business district.
However, Russia’s State News agency Tass mentioned that a security guard sustained injuries during the incident. One of the affected buildings situated several kilometers away from the Kremlin, housed three Russian government ministries including the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, The Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digital Development, and the Federal Agency for Nationalities, among others, and residential apartments, as reported by Russian Media Outlets.
This marked the third attack on the capital region within a week.
These reported attacks are part of a series of recent drone assaults, including ones on the Kremlin and Russian towns near the Ukraine border. Moscow has consistently attributed the responsibility for these drone strikes to Kyiv.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a grave warning, stating that Moscow would be compelled to employ nuclear weapons if Kyiv’s counter offensive proved to result in the seizure of any part of Russian Territory. As the Deputy Chair of Russia’s security council, Medvedev asserted that in such a dire scenario, there would be no alternative course of action but to resort to nuclear war.

Amidst the rising tensions, Former US president, Donald Trump called on Congress to withhold military aid for Ukraine Until the Biden administration cooperated with congressional investigations into Hunter Biden’s business dealings. He urged that no further weapon shipments be authorized until the FBI, Justice Department, and Internal Revenue Service fully disclose all evidence related to possible misbehavior by the members of the Biden Family.
