I got tremendous love and appreciation for my work
Recently actor Atul Kulkarni did an interview where the host asked him the biggest compliment he ever got. Atul sir replied by saying that there is no one biggest compliment, so to say, but the tremendous love and appreciation that I’m getting, I think as a whole, is satisfying and remarkable. Atul sir said that he and his team hadn’t celebrated the success of his recently released movie Earth Thursday, we are talking about it, and I’m sure Behzad and Ronnie will soon have this celebration party. Atul also talks about the role that he has played in Rudra. he said that the character is called Gotham. This show is a beautiful & unique blend of thriller, investigative drama, and also about emotions of the characters, how the characters are intermingled with each other, what are their relationships, the complexities of it. So, there are two friends, Rudra and Gotham. Rudra is about how they work on a case and how they are in their relationships, how it goes, and what the twists and turns are.
Rajesh Mapuskar asked me about this web show, and he gave me the script to read; I read it and loved it. So there was no way to say no to such a wonderful project. Atul sir also noted that for me, Ajay Ji is a person, not only an actor, he is a director himself, he’s a producer, writes. Ajay has such a piece of excellent knowledge about all the technical sides of filmmaking, made the camera, made the unified sequences and lighting. So, when such an experienced person comes in front of you, you can only learn, and that learning is not like what a teacher teaches in a school on a blackboard. It comes with how you talk about the scene, his inputs, how he is looking at the stage, what he thinks, what his thoughts are, and in that respect, I think I have gained a lot from Ajay Ji.
Arul Kulkarni also said we never felt any pressure while making Rudra because we know that we are making an Indian show called Rudra. However, it is based on Luther, and we were making a completely different show, which was very evident in the script itself. So while we were shooting, we were shooting the script that we had written. Atul Ji also gives his point of view on re-creating movies or web shows. He said that a good story is a good story, and when it is proved that it is good, then, of course, everyone wants that story to be told to their people, and it is adapted. So naturally, it is going to be different. So like Rudra is completely Indianized there, the way we Indians are as Indians, you will see those people in Rudra and those conditions in this show, and if you know, the trailer also gives a glimpse of that. He also said that I think OTT didn’t make a difference In my career for me. I think it is only a different format where an actor gets to work on his craft for a more extended period because 9-10 episodes of any show are approx. two and a half or three films. So, for me, that is the only difference, and medium never matters for me. I love the camera, working in front of the camera the technique that the camera provides, so the medium doesn’t matter that much.
