The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian cricket board (BCCI) on Thursday confirmed that the tickets for the Men’s ODI World Cup will go for sale from August 25.
The announcement was made in a media release after the rescheduling of nine clashes in the mega event starting from October 5.
The eager fans can also register their interest through World Cup 2024 for getting notified about the tickets and other updates of the mega event.
To manage the demands of the tickets and give every fan a possible chance to grab a seat at the World Cup the ICC has divided the ticket sale into phases which starts from the Non-India warmup and all other non-India games from August 25.
Tickets for team India’s matches :
Trivandrum and Guwahati: August 30
Chennai, Delhi, and Pune: August 31
Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai: September 1
Bengaluru and Kolkata: September 2
Ahmedabad: September 3
Knockout stage (semi-final and final)- September 15.
The BCCI Chief executive officer Hemang Amin in a press release said that they are happy to announce that the fans can register for official tickets to the ICC Men’s World Cup to receive updates and other information about the WC. he further added that after some amendments the board has finalized and the cricket fans can now look forward to buying the tickets and enjoy the high-quality games during the event.
He concluded by saying that the Cricket Board will leave no stone unturned and make sure that the fans enjoy their experience at all the venues.
The head of events for ICC, Chris Tetley said that the tickets for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2024 will go live this month and the International Council calls all the millions of cricket fans to register their interest from August 15 onwards and to ensure you’re the first one to receive all the updates related to the tickets.
The ICC launched an exciting campaign ‘It Takes One Day’ for the ICC event which included the Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan, Indian opener Shubman Gill and female cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues.
Ind vs Pak clash rescheduled:
The most awaited clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is one out of nine games which is re-scheduled a day prior due to the security concerns raised by the local police of Ahmedabad. The Indian festival of Navratri aligns with the original date, October 15.
Other eight fixtures which are re-scheduled:
1) England vs Bangladesh
2) Pakistan vs Sri Lanka
3) Australia vs South Africa
4) Bangladesh vs New Zealand
5) England vs Afghanistan
6) Australia vs Bangladesh
7) England vs Pakistan
8) India vs Netherlands
The much-awaited tournament will kick off with the contest between the 2019 World Cup finalists England and New Zealand on October 5.
Venues for the WC 2024:
It has been 12 years since India hosted this men’s event, the tournament will be played over 10 locations which include Rajiv Gandhi Stadium ( Hyderabad), Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (Dharamsala), Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi), MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium (Lucknow), MCA Stadium (Pune), Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), Eden Gardens ( Kolkata), Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad).
Team India will start their World Cup campaign against the five-time world champions Australia on October 8 in Chennai.
India’s 15-man squad for the WC will be much awaited to see as key players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. however, there are positive signs of KL recovering from his thigh injury and he might be included in the World Cup squad.
