In a disturbing incident that unfolded in DeLeon Springs, a man’s evening took a perilous turn after accepting an invitation to continue drinking at a lady’s residence. The 29-year-old woman, identified as Cline, reportedly met the man at a local pub before extending the invitation.
According to the victim’s account given to deputies, he consumed two drinks upon arriving at the woman’s home, after which he began feeling unwell. Reports indicate that he expressed experiencing nausea and discomfort. In an unexpected twist, it is alleged that Cline confessed to tampering with the man’s beverages by adding Raid spray, commonly used as an insecticide, to his drinks.
The consequences of this dangerous act quickly became apparent as the man began vomiting intensely for an extended period, reportedly lasting nearly 30 minutes. Distressed by his deteriorating condition, he attempted to seek assistance but was unable to do so effectively due to his condition.
Deputies were alerted to the situation around 4:30 AM on Friday morning and swiftly proceeded to the residence located on Wheeler Street. Inside, they discovered the man in distress, still battling the effects of the poisoning. During his attempt to provide a statement to the authorities, the victim’s condition worsened, and he fell ill once more.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, law enforcement promptly arranged for the man to receive medical attention at a nearby healthcare facility.
In a significant development, bodycam footage released by the sheriff’s office revealed that Cline was not present inside the house when deputies arrived at the scene. However, a K-9 unit successfully located her concealed behind a nearby bush.
