Sitcoms have been an indispensable part of television history. The sitcom is short for situational comedy. The origin of sitcoms dates all the way back to the 1950s. Initially, sitcoms were part of radio entertainment, considering the times that they were created, but later on, they turned into major television programs. It is a wide misconception that sitcoms were the day and age of the older generations, The very recent sitcom, “Juice”, starring Mawaan Rizwan is all set to his latest sitcom, ‘Juice’ up on the wheels!
Mawaan Rizwan
Mawaan Rizwan is a British comedian, actor, and writer. He is known for his work in stand-up comedy, as well as for his appearances in various TV shows and content on YouTube. He gained popularity through his comedic performances that often touch on personal experiences, cultural observations, and social commentary. His YouTube channel “Mawaan” features a large blend of his content, it includes comedic character sketches, Day-to-day activities, Collaborative episodes with a bunch of different brands, etc.
Rizwan has done a lot of movies and has delivered exemplary performances. To name a few, Two Weeks to Live (2020), Murdered by My Father (2016).Apart from acting he has implemented his amazing writing skills as one of the writers of Netflix’s hit comedy series Sex Education(2019) which went up to 4 seasons as it absolutely stole the hearts of many through their encapsulating acting and wondrous storytelling. He has had several acting roles in Simon Amstell’s romcom Benjamin, and the mockumentary Carnage.
Juice
‘Juice’ follows the storyline of Jamma, who finds it a tad bit difficult to shine up to the light as his parents are constantly overshadowing him. His Mother, Farida, played by the amazing actress, Shahnaz Rizwan becomes the villain in his life story. Throughout the show, we get further details into Jamma’s life and how he manages to navigate his own life based on his desires, priorities, and choices. Juice is a Series released and produced by BBC.
Mawaan comically says how he feels thrilled to be playing the role of a young man who is almost like a manchild and absolutely craves and loves anything that draws attention toward him.

The BBC has commissioned the full series of ‘Juice’. The idea of the series, as the British Comedy Guide revealed came from the advice of Rizwan’s mother’s advice which goes something like this,
Apart from tinges and fringes of his mother’s advice, Juice was also manufactured and produced a little bit from his Edinburgh Fringe Show in the year 2018. Juice stars a lot of Rizwan’s family members which really does elevate the familial essence of the sitcom and makes it all the way more fun. Apart from his mother, which is being played by his real-life mother, the sitcom also stars, Nabhaan Rizwan as his younger brother.
