Tomorrowland, the world’s largest electronic dance music festival, has announced that Ape Rave Club, an NFT artist, will headline this year’s festival with a first performance on the main stage on July 24.
The concert will be the first time an NFT artist has performed live at a major music festival. Ape Rave Club, a digital artist from the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT series, will perform live for the first time on the most important platform in the electronic dance music scene: Tomorrowland’s famous main stage.
The festival is projected to draw 600,000 live attendees and millions more via broadcast around the world. Ape Rave Club’s performance will be a one-of-a-kind visual experience for audiences, fusing the digital and physical worlds in a novel way.
Ape Rave Club will also premiere special NFTs based on the performance as a souvenir for buyers. Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are digital collectibles based on blockchain technology. Music and movies, as well as artwork and video games, can all inspire NFTs.
“Ape Rave Club is the first blockchain-based digital artist to perform at a major festival.” Expect NFT releases with real-world utility, extraordinary experiences, and unlimited possibilities to connect with fans on a whole new level,
“Thanks to the combination of the global language of music and blockchain technology,” Ape Rave Club stated in an official statement on March 8.Â
“Ape Rave Club intends to be one of the first decentralized artists in the music industry, releasing creative crypto-native music via NFT platforms.” This means that fans will have control over things like aesthetic direction and potentially share ownership of Ape Rave Club, according to the announcement.
Tomorrowland, one of the world’s largest electronic dance music festivals, will take place in Boom, Belgium over three weekends from July 15 to July 31, 2022.
Tomorrowland around the World, a two-day interactive event, is now teaming with Ape Rave Club to mix real life and the metaverse.
Tomorrowland creates the largest electronic landscape platform to incorporate an exciting new era of artists and musical acts by integrating the social and technology movement, according to Ape Rave Club.
The news has created quite a stir on Twitter:
According to predictions, the volume of NFT sales will exceed $25 billion (about Rs. 1,84,700 crore) in 2021.
Together with Tomorrowland, the NFT craze has made inroads into the global music industry.
For example, the Grammys teamed with Oneof last year for a three-year series of NFTs.Â
The OneOf team stated at the time, “If exploited to their full potential, NFTs will empower the music industry in ways that few other technologies have ever done.”
