New Delhi: There’s quite a stir in the political arena in New Delhi today. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman didn’t hold back, lashing out at the DMK and their alliance, INDIA. She accused them of being against Hindus and ‘Sanatan Dharma’. The reason? Well, it all started with DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin making some rather provocative comments. He pointed fingers at Sanatan Dharma, blaming it for sowing seeds of division and discrimination among people. He even went as far as saying it should be wiped out!
But here’s the kicker: Finance Minister Sitharaman didn’t just stop at the DMK; she squarely targeted the Congress. According to her, the grand old party is cosying up to groups with their eyes set on “breaking India.” It’s worth noting that even though the Congress quickly distanced itself from Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks, the minister and her party colleagues aren’t letting them off the hook.
In fact, Ms Sitharaman was quite vocal about it, insisting that their protest wasn’t against Sanatana Dharma but to eliminate it altogether. And to add to the drama, she claimed that none of the members of the INDIA bloc have uttered a word of condemnation about these remarks. It’s undoubtedly a heated political moment in the capital!
Controversial Remarks on Hindu Spark Outrage in Tamil Nadu Politics
People in Tamil Nadu went through a tough time, and the rest of the country didn’t quite get it because of the language barrier. It’s been a longstanding issue, you know. But things have changed with social media. Now, you don’t even need a translator to understand what a minister is saying. It’s not really surprising. The DMK has been at this for 70 years. It’s all a bit hypocritical,” she remarked.
She went on to call Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments a “mockery of the constitution.” She alleged that he deliberately made these controversial statements, fully aware that they would go against his oath to serve the public.
“Sanatana (Dharma) should be wiped out like we do with diseases like malaria, dengue, and mosquitoes, without any opposition,” Udhayanidhi Stalin had said, sparking a strong reaction from the BJP and its allies.
On the Delhi Declaration
So, you know, the G20, it’s like this big financial club, right? Well, Nirmala Sitharaman, in this cool chat with NDTV, spilled the beans on what they’ve been up to. They’re all into stuff like crypto assets, global debt, and fixing up the Bretton Woods Institutions, which are basically the International Monetary Forum and the World Bank.
Guess what? India got everyone on the same page for all these topics! Nirmala says she’s totally pumped about the Delhi Declaration.
She mentioned that the finance gang has a big role to play in the G20. And, you know, India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, is all about saying, “Hey, these big global institutions need a makeover!”
Speaking about crypto, she’s like, “No solo acts, folks!” It’s all about teamwork and having some solid discussions.
Oh, and she gave a big shoutout to PM Modi, calling him the voice of the global south at the G20. She’s concerned about middle-income countries drowning in debt, and she’s like, “Come on, World Bank and IMF, we gotta fix this!”
So, that’s the scoop from Nirmala Sitharaman!
