Halle berry dedicates SeeHer honour to ‘every girl who feels unseen and unheard’
The 27th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, which give out honours to both films and TV shows, were held in Los Angeles. The ceremony recognises the best films and television shows of a given year, as voted on by the 500-member-plus Critics’ Choice Association.
The awards spotlight the best actors, directors, and writers while also honouring technical and behind-the-scenes prowess.
Among the big winners were Netflix’s “The Power of the Dog,” Jane Campion’s subversive western, which won for best picture, director, and adapted screenplay; Will Smith took Best Actor for Warner Bros’ King Richard.
During his acceptance speech, Will Smith joked that the Best Actor award recipient should be given more time. While addressing his family, he said, “I really just want to say to all of you, thank you for entrusting me with your story.”
