In INDIA where sports are considered as festival and players are worship as God, where thousands of people regularly left their homes to be the next superstar in the field of sports either he is Sachin Tendulkar or Indian captain Virat Kohli everyone wants to be like them to inspire millions to do something for their motherland.
These stars have got a very beautiful place in India’s people’s hearts because here sports are not played it is enjoyed whether it’s kabaddi or cricket each one of them is loved by the people in India.
After all, these sports are played by each of us at a young time when there was no technology to scroll on social media we use to go out and play different kinds of sports whether it is badminton or kabaddi.
There is a phrase I remember which my grandma uses to say if there are ‘God, then there will be demons also’ earlier when I use to be a kid, I don’t use to believe in this but now after 15 years, her words are revolving around my mind each time because this is what it has happened in Punjab.
In an event which was held at Jalandhar international kabaddi player, Sandeep Singh was shot dead during the event on 14th March 4 days before the Holi festival. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
Police said when Sandeep came out of the tournament site at Malian Khurd village in Nakodar, four men opened fire on him. They suspect eight to 10 bullets were pumped into the Kabaddi player. The video of murder is widely circulated on social media.
In the video, some people are seen standing amidst trees shooting at someone who is not visible. Jalandhar (Rural) Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nakodar) Lakhwinder Singh said the player comes from Nangal Ambiyan village in Shahkot, but was settled in England and is a British citizen.
