‘Beast’ starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles will hit the screens on April 13. Fans became even more curious since another blockbuster would release in the same weekend, Kannada superstar Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, which is all set to release on 14th April this year.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast and Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2, the most awaited movies of South this year, will clash at the box office soon. The two giants will compete over the summer, with Beast releasing on April 13 and KGF: Chapter 2 on April 14. KGF: Chapter 2 will ride alone on Wednesday the 13th, giving it an edge to do better at the box office.
KGF: Chapter 2 is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and tells the story of Rocky Bhai, a legendary warrior who fights against all odds to emerge as a true conqueror. It also stars Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in lead roles.
Announcing Vijay’s film, Sun Pictures, the film’s production company, tweeted, “‘Beast’ from April 13.” Fans are waiting for this film, which has been postponed due to the lockdown. The Beast’s unit shot for almost 100 days and took a picture to mark the occasion.
The shooting finally got over in December last year. Despite the delays and difficulties caused by the pandemic, the entire unit of the Beast claimed that shooting for the film has been a pleasant experience.
While Beast is a Tamil film, KGF: Chapter 2 is a pan-India film, which will release worldwide in multiple languages including Hindi. Yesterday, a new poster of Thalapathy Vijay was released confirming that the much-awaited film will hit the theaters on April 13. Previously, it was said that the Beast would be released on 14, they pushed a date forward to accommodate KGF: Chapter 2. In the market.

Talking about KGF, it was earlier scheduled to release in July last year but was postponed due to the pandemic. For the unversed, Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the role of the antagonist Adheera in ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, a follow-up to the Kannada blockbuster ‘KGF: Chapter 1’.
The story of the first part follows a street boy who later turns into a dangerous gangster in his pursuit of power. The sequel is said to follow the struggle for power between Rocky (Yash) and Adheera (Sanjay).
Both are the biggest action movies of the South, will have to wait to see which one comes first. However, it must be noted that fans were waiting for the release of KGF: Chapter for 2 years as it was continuously postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Beast, on the other hand, went on floors last year and has hit the theaters on time. The buzz and reaction for Beast are huge as two songs from the movie Arabic Kuthu and Jolly O Gymkhana have become chartbusters.
KGF: Chapter 1 became a huge hit
The first part of the movie went on to become the biggest hit at the box office in history. Released in five languages, the Prashanth Neel-directorial earned over Rs 225 crore at the worldwide box office.
