Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam Dhar and Nimrat Kaur return to the OTT platform with a social comedy following a politician’s attempt to pass class 10.
Dasvi starring Abhishek Bachchan as Gangaram Chaudhary is a politician who finds a new purpose to complete his high school while he ends up learning his value as an illiterate after an embarrassing word of exchange with Jyoti Deswal (Yami).
Yami Gautam Dhar plays a role of a strict IPS officer along with Nimrat Kaur as Bimla Devi, Gangaram’s wife and action Chief Minister open up as a quirky and feisty character as she starts liking being a CM.
The characters of this film are interesting following the cast. Abhishek looks rustic and revolting in an urge to satisfy his ego of passing the exam. Yami returns to OTT after her recent release ‘A Thursday’, with a similar attitude yet different role, whereas Nimrat again impresses in a different avatar.
Tushar Jalota makes his directorial debut with Dasvi. Jalota had earlier worked as assistant director in the films including Ram Leela, Barfi! And Padmaavat.
The film has a fresh and interesting story concept coming from Ram Bajpai, a screenplay written by Ritesh Shah and Suresh Nair who jointly worked on Airlift. Sandeep Leyzell produces the film alongside Dinesh Vijan and Shobhana Yadav.
A production of Maddock Films and Jio Studios in association with Bake My Cake Films, Dasvi will be an OTT release on Netflix and Jio Cinema platforms and will be out on April 7.

Abhishek is often compared with the standards of Amitabh Bachchan and receives mixed gestures for his acting. But this time as he came out to invest his time in promoting Dasvi on social media and manifests the positivity around the film.
“I have always been very reticent to speak about my films, borderline apologetic about my work. People call it humility or lack of confidence in what I have made. I want to change that. I want to be unapologetic about this film. We have worked tremendously hard and I believe deeply that we have made a good film,” said Junior Bachchan.
