Nearly two weeks after the declaration of election poll results, BJP’s ‘Hero’ Adityanath is all set to take his oath as Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister for the second term.
The ceremony will take place on Friday at a grand event in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Thousands of people are expected to attend the celebration, which will see the BJP become the first party in over three decades to return to power for a second consecutive term.
Apart from all chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, other important officials in the ruling party have been invited. The swearing-in ceremony is intended to be a demonstration of the party’s strength.On Friday morning, the freshly elected members are set to attend a tea party at the chief minister’s official residence.
Yogi on his Win
Yogi Adityanath reflected on the start of his first term in 2017 after a crucial meeting on Thursday, where the 49-year-old was formally elected as Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister. He said, “It is our test of how true can we be to people’s expectations. That reforms, good governance, investments could be made possible in UP was due to the fabulous teamwork example shown by the central leadership.”
Yogi Adityanath also reinforced the accomplishments of the BJP government and how, when he first took office in 2017, he sought advice from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah “Before 2017, UP was at the bottom in implementing welfare schemes of the centre. Today it is a top-performing state in implementing these schemes,” he said.
Guests attending the Event
- Gujarat’s Bhupendra Patel, Haryana’s Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh’s Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Karnataka’s Basavaraj Bommai, and Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma are among the chief ministers anticipated to attend the ceremony.
- Chief ministers from Bihar, Nagaland, and Meghalaya, all of which have a BJP-led government, have also been invited.
- · The team of ‘The Kashmir Files,’ which includes director Vivek Agnihotri and actor Anupam Kher, is expected to attend.
- The film received praise from the prime minister, Yogi Adityanath, and others, and has now surpassed the $200 million mark at the box office.
- Thirty key investors from Noida have also been invited.
- Vipin Malhan president of Noida Entrepreneur Association (NEA) said that ‘this will be the first time that they have received an invitation to the UP-CM’s oath ceremony.’ He expects better days for the manufacturing and industrial sector that faced a setback due to Covid for the past two years.
- It’s unclear whether Akhilesh Yadav, the BJP’s opponent, will attend. He was present at the swearing-in event in 2017.
- He has resigned as the Lok Sabha Member of Parliament for Azamgarh, although he has kept his Karhal assembly seat.
- With the change, he is anticipated to resume his job as the state assembly’s opposition leader.
BJP’s Plan for the new term
Amit Shah, on Thursday, stated that the BJP will devote the next five years to making Uttar Pradesh the most prosperous state and No.1 economy in the country. He said, “Our job must be to build on this grand win. The next five years are to restore UP’s glory and to make it the country’s number one economy.,”
With the anticipation that Uttar Pradesh may once again have two deputy chief ministers, all eyes will be on Yogi Adityanath’s new government. During Yogi’s first term, he had two deputies: Keshav Prasad Maurya, who suffered a disappointing election defeat in his constituency, and Dinesh Sharma, who had not run in the state election. This time around, Baby Rani Maurya is seen as a strong contender for the position.
