Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation on Friday, 25th February 2022. He gave his official statement confirming the Russian invasion. He addresses the country of Ukraine on Friday morning stating that Ukraine has officially confirmed Russian ballistic missile strikes. This confirmation was made after witnessing missile explosions in the capital city of Kyiv in the wee hours of Friday. Zelensky also confirmed that the country had reported multiple casualties to post the Russian invasion. He confirmed civilian and military personnel casualties that soared up to 137 in number. The numbers were also confirmed by the authorities and reporters on the field. He also extended his gratitude towards the efforts of the EU coalition for their sanction against Russia. Â
The Ukrainian border guard service reported the strike in the Zaporizhzhya region. The missile strike took place on Russia-Ukraine war day 2. It was witnessed at 4:25 A.M local time. The attacks were gradually increasing in the country of Ukraine. In addition to this, Russian invaders were closing in on the border since Thursday.

Ukraine saw the supply of additional arms and weapons for their aid. The supply was sourced from Ukraine’s armed forces. The additional weapons were brought in during the mass explosions within the country. Ukrainian soldiers were seen as highly alert throughout the nation. The evacuation of civilians was the top priority. Â
The Reuters agency reported that Ukraine asked the underground hacker community of the country to offer their assistance in the war. They were asked to provide cyber spying on the Russian troops. Reuters sourced the statements from two people involved in the cyber spying missions.Â
The country of Russia saw mass protests against Putin’s decision to wage war. Despite the consequences declared in doing so, Russian citizens called for an end to the violence. Citizens across the globe stood firmly against the war and the consequences that would come with it. Russia experienced restrictions on their forms of expression against war via social media, gathering for protests, etc.

Zelensky and his family continued to stay in Ukraine despite the mass explosions. A full military mobilization was decreed against the Russian invasion. It was called for 90 days. Â
Ukraine received an allocation of funds from the United Nations on day 2 of the Russia- Ukraine war. A fund of $20 million was allocated for Ukraine to aid the humanitarian operations of Ukraine amidst the Russian invasion. Furthermore, a rise in the number of casualties was reported. The Ukrainian military troops were guiding the civilians out of the explosive vicinity. The UN Secretary-General, Antoinne Guterres gave addressed the UN for the same.

The United States of America intervened during the invasion. The USA stated that they were ready to receive Ukrainian refugees who were evacuated from the country. The official statement was also received from Jen Psaki, the press secretary of the White House. Biden also extended his strong stance against the call for war. Â
Russia observed a ban on all financial operations via the countries of Ukraine. The Ukraine Central Bank officially stated that a ban on payments to Russian entities was imposed. All operations relating to the currencies of both nations came to a complete halt. The regulator of the Ukraine Central Bank, the NBU (National Bank of Ukraine) gave their official statements to Reuters. Â
