On March 14th, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya (top state leaders’ museum), which was made and opened during the festival of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The gallery recounts the story of India after freedom through the lives and commitments of its prime ministers.
There are a total of 43 galleries in the Sangrahalaya. Beginning by showing the struggle for freedom and creating the constitution, the Sangrahalaya continues to depict the story of how our Prime Minister has navigated the country through numerous challenges and still ensured overall progress for the country. The goal is to inspire and educate the younger generation about how our leaders fought for, led, dreamed, and achieved.
The design of the museum building is inspired by the story of India’s rise, shaped and moulded by the hands of its leaders. The museum has used cutting-edge technology-based interfaces to include a wide range of content and rotate the display frequently. It also has accurate information from real sources such as Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan, Films Division, Sansad TV, the Ministry of Defence, media houses (Indian and foreign), and foreign news agencies, among others.
People can interact with the exhibit content with the help of holograms and other technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as multi-touch and multimedia. They can also use interactive kiosks, computerized kinetic sculptures, smartphone apps, and interactive screens.
The Prime Minister made the first official visit to the museum as he purchased the first ticket before the inauguration and paid via digital mode. The museum is in the Teen Murti complex, located in the national capital. Inaugurated on the birthday of Dr. BR Ambedkar, who helped write the Indian Constitution.
Prime Minister Modi likewise addressed and talked about the museum and its advantages for the youth. He said, “This gallery is an incredible motivation for us when we are celebrating 75 years of independence…I can also see the families of previous PMs today. This occasion is graced by their presence. “
He added that it is a matter of pride for all Indians that the majority of our state leaders have come from humble families. And every administration plays a part in taking India to where it stands today.
