A 16-year-old girl in the Russian-occupied village of Kherson, Ukraine, has made horrifying allegations being raped by an intoxicated Russian soldier.
“Either you sleep with me now, or I’ll bring 20 more guys,” an intoxicated Russian soldier said before reportedly rapping a 16-year-old pregnant adolescent in the Russian-controlled hamlet of Kherson.
The Statements by the 16 Year Old
According to CNN, the minor was six months pregnant at the alleged rape. She said the inebriated soldier raped her and threatened to murder her if she refused to cooperate.
To avoid the bombing, the survivor and her family took refuge in the basement of their home. The drunk soldier observed them as they brought the children out to eat at dark.
She added, “He inquired about the children’s ages. I was 16 years old, and two females were 12 and 14 years old. He first summoned my mother, but she was swiftly released, and then he summoned me. When I arrived, he began yelling at me and demanded that I strip. When I refused, he threatened to bring 20 more guys until I agreed to sleep with him.”
She said he tried to strangle her and threatened to murder her if she refused to be raped. Another Russian soldier who was not inebriated tried unsuccessfully to persuade the attacker to stop, but to no avail.
“I remember him having blue eyes, although it was dark,” the survivor claimed.
“If only we hadn’t gone out to lunch,” she mourned, “he wouldn’t have seen us, and he wouldn’t have touched me.”
Her anguish, however, did not end with the rape. She was transferred to another soldier the next day, who began yelling at her and threatening to rape her.
“I started weeping because I was scared. He claimed, however, that it was a test to see if I was speaking the truth or lying.”
Although the news outlet could not verify the accusation independently, Ukrainian authorities informed CNN that they had examined the charges and confirmed the incident, describing it as a war crime.
“It was established in early March 2022, during the takeover of a town where there was no military facility of Ukrainian forces, there were war crimes against civilians, including the rape of a minor resident of the village, thanks to the testimony of the victim and the findings of several investigation operations,” the prosecutors said in a statement.
