NOIDA: The family of a 28-year-old businessman, who was mowed down by a car at Noida’s Mahamaya flyover, has urged strict punishment against the five accused students, particularly the one who was at the wheel, stating they drove into him with the purpose to murder.
The victim, Divakar Motwani, continues to be in a severe state with damage to his skull and many limb fractures.
According to Motwani’s sister Kanchan, the entire family was taken aback when they saw the footage.
“These men tried to kill my brother….”
He was returning from a business meeting. In the last two years, he’s been working to expand his internet marketing platform.
Doctors are claiming he has significant injuries on his skull and several fractures on his legs.
She demanded, “severe action be taken against the perpetrators.”
When a group of guys, including Motwani, sees the accused fighting over their automobiles colliding on film, it raises suspicions. After some time, they get into their automobile, strike Motwani’s vehicle, and then run over him. The footage shows him being hurled into the air.
The event took occurred in the early hours of Saturday when Motwani was returning from a meeting. When the accused’s i20 crashed into the car he was in with friends and clients. The i20 was pursued by Motwani’s car, and an altercation ensued near the Mahamaya overpass.
Naveen Avana, a hotel management student who was reportedly behind the wheel, has been named as the primary suspect. Noida is where he and his family call home.
Friends Abhinav Sehgal, Nitesh, Surya, and Vijayant Bhati, all of whom are in their twenties, have also been detained.
They’re all Noida locals. Sehgal, Gupta, and Bhati are attending a private college in Noida while the Bhatia family owns a restaurant.
The family of Motwani, who is now being treated for a brain hemorrhage at Kailash Hospital, has launched an online campaign to demand that justice be served. Doctors say he might have many blood clots and is serious.
The only thing we were concerned about was that they would strike our car, according to Himanshu Agrawal, a toy company owner and buddy. They started fighting. The inebriated one of them got into the car next.
They slid towards us. We were able to flee, but not before they struck Motwani, who was thrown into the air. They then trampled him underfoot.
Accusations of intoxication against any of the defendants were flatly refuted by Ranvijay Singh, Additional DCP (Noida).
“It is evident that the accused struck the victim on purpose. We promptly opened a case under attempted murder and arrested all five implicated. Strict legal action would be taken as per the enquiry.”
