The theme gives abundant access to many interpretations and ideas and the exclusive reason behind this theme is that New York City boasts a distinctive culture that no other city in the world has ever experienced. The tradition of the Met Gala is celebrated since 1948.
Vogue is in charge of organizing the event and almost every Hollywood celeb has at least once attended the Gala. And Kim Kardashian is no exception to that, she didn’t just attend the event this year but she is the regular attendee presenting insanely credible looks.
This time Kim Kardashian didn’t opt for a luxurious high fashion brand’s custom-made gown but a vintage Jean Louis gown which was only created for Marilyn Monroe herself. Kim grabbed numerous eyes on her and knew the estimation of the dress itself will raise your eyebrows. The vintage dress was acquired by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not in 2016 at a Julien’s auction for $4.8 million.
Marilyn Monroe wore the actual dress in 1962 for President John F. Kennedy’s birthday where she sang the breathy version of “happy birthday”. The dress was preserved as a top-class priority as it is a masterpiece of pop culture history. The dress was actually sewn on Marilyn’s body so that only she could wear it but Kim has changed the history and the 60-year-old dress without causing any alterations.
