In a sudden incident, Wrestler Satyender Malik forced a physical harm and abused referee Jagbir Singh after he lost the 125kg final trial during the commonwealth game. That’s why WFI (Wrestling Federation of India) imposed a ban on the wrestler.
What happened during the match?
During the match, Satyender was winning as the score board showcased 3-0 and only 18 seconds were left for decision making move and the opposite wrestler Mohit started ‘take down’ move and pushed Satyender out of the mat for another point.
At that time, referee Virender Malik gave only one point for pushout and not for take down and this decision upset Mohit. He asked for a challenge.
How match’s decision made?
Later for decision, senior referee Jagbir Singh was requested to look through the challenge and hence he took a number of replays on TV and finally he gave out the decision that Mohit should be awarded with 3 points.
Mohit was the last who made a move and he gained 3 points according to the decision passed by the senior referee and the score was 3-3, so that’s how Mohit was declared as a winner.
Satender did not like this decision and later the angry wrestler Satyender Malik walked down through Mat A where the 57kg final was happening.
He walked straight towards the referee and abused him and later he slapped him due to which he lost his balance and fell on the ground from his chair.
Due to a sudden mess, the 57kg final round was stopped which was happening in Indira Gandhi stadium at Delhi.
All this unexpected thing happened in front of the jury of WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, later the jury imposed a life ban on 125kg wrestler Satyender Malik.
