The winners’ list of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne was announced on Friday (August 20). Suriya, Vidya Balan, Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha won the best performance award.
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne(IFFM) was held on August 20. The 12th edition of the prestigious awards, held virtually, whose theme was Diversity through Cinema.
Several celebrities won during the award ceremony. Amazon Prime Video grabbed a massive victory at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2021.
While India’s most loved crime drama Mirzapur Season 2 won the Best Web Series Award, Manoj Bajpayee won the best actor in web series, and Suriya and Vidya Balan won best actor and actress in a leading role for their realistic performance.
Samantha made her OTT debut with The Family Man 2. The South star who played the vexation against Manoj Bajpayee expressed her joy and said it was her first time on this award platform.
In her speech, Samantha thanked and was grateful to Raj and DK for giving her such a diverse role and allowing her to perform beyond her cute girl image.
Manoj Bajpayee won his second award at the film festival. He had previously won the Best Actor award for Gali Guleiyan in 2018.
Baypayee restated his gratitude for the platform. Winning the Best Actor in a Series for The Family Man 2 actor stated his gratitude towards writers and makers of the show for giving him a chance to portray the character.
Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru was also Awarded the Best Feature Film. In his oration, he called Soorarai Pottru his special film.
The actor thanked his director Sudha Prasad for giving him the character of Mara and told him that this film adds a fresh taste to his 20 yrs career.

Pankaj Tripathi was given the Diversity in Cinema Award. He said the award is an inspiration for his craft. Tripathi was honoured by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
The actor thanked Kashyap for giving him the big opportunity in his Gangs of Wasseypur and showed his gratitude towards directors, writers and the projects he got to work with.
Prominent Indian artists like Shoojit Sircar, Anurag Kashyap, Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Sriram Raghavan were amongst the presenters, along with Richa Chadha, Guneet Monga, Onir and others as jury members.
