Swara Bhaskar, the bollywood actress comes up while showing her support to Amber Heard after the Jury announced the verdict.
The legal verdict –
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard sued each other in defamation case back in April 2022.
It is one of the longest trials ever held by the jury of virginia.
However, the Seven Jury announced their decision in Johnny Depp’s favour and later he thanked the jury and said, ‘You’ve given my life back’ whereas Heard felt ‘Heartbroken’.
Additionally, the court awarded a better compensation to Johnny Depp and now Amber Heard owes him $10.35 million.
Many people celebrated Depp’s success on this trial whereas many were upset with Jury’s decision.
Swara Bhaskar supports Amber Heard –
Lately, on Tuesday, bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar took to Twitter and expressed her support towards Amber Heard.
She shared an article in The Guardian that described the trial as an ‘orgy of misogyny’ and over turning point for the backlash to #MeToo movement, and also requested others to read it.
However, one user wrote an unexpected comment, ‘I like you but Heard deserved that’.
This comment fumed Swara and replied that, ‘Nobody deserves to be sexually assaulted. Nobody. That you think this is deeply disturbing. I pity the women in your life.’
Another user said that they’re celebrating Depp’s win because he has proved himself clean chit and all the allegations expressed by Heard were false.
Add on to that, Bhaskar shared an article about Johnny’s 2018 UK libel suit against a publication for calling him a ‘wife-beater.’
He lost that trial and the jury claimed that the allegations are ‘substantially true’.
However, now Johnny Depp has won this suit during which, the Jury have given Johnny $10 million in anti compliment damages and $5 million in penal damages.
To Amber, the jury awarded $2 million in anti compliment damage.
However, the jury reduced the total amount awarded to Depp due to Virginia rule limiting penal damages, whereas Amber still owes him $10.35 million.
